Microsoft and Gator - Saving User Data

Windows (along with IE) has the same ability as Gator to store passwords, and other information. I would like to know, how, under Windows XP Pro and IE6, can you delete the user data that it stores for such items? For example, I can double-click the login field for this site, and a menu opens...

EVMS for Linux (Enterprise Volume Management System)

My knowledge of Linux and it's corresponding tools prevents me from determining if everything presented in this article is accurate or exaggerated, but the principle of a localized tool is critical to proper administration of any sort. Thanks for the link Coug.

Thank you for the links Jake. The RAM has some good pictures and information, as well does the Perth Mint. Metric or not?

If you stick around long enough, you just might see that. As the moons orbit moves away from earth (which it does on an average of 1.2 inches a year), earths rotation on its axis will slow. Days and nights will be long, but that will also increase the heat during the day, and the cold...

    Office, Pepsi, or Chai?

You're welcome James. I thought the price contrasts were interesting. Microsoft Office costs 35,000 rupees when "every Indian national we've bumped into in London faces bankruptcy here if she or he fancies a cup of tea (chai), which might set you back about four rupees." No wonder the Indian...

My day with "never again" products

I have not checked to see where Azza comes from. At the moment, I have all the motherboard brands I need: Soltek, Gigabyte, DFI, ECS (I put this one in just for your enjoyment), ASUS, MSI, Tyan, and Intel. I have no need to try Azza.

Keyboard design has not improved since 1981

It's right-foot in the air. :D For me, the keyboard layout is very natural, but that is because I was formally trained in typing and have become accustomed to its layout. The truth lies with those that have not been trained with our keyboard. When they see the hodge-podge of keys arbitrarily...

    "Fleet computer challenge"

Coug, Mercutio mentioned that those 12x CD devices are CD-RWs, so I'm not sure if compatibility would be that bad. I shouldn't have just referred to them as "readers". The Protege accents are from MS Word. As you can see, typed straight into the Message Body box doesn't yield the same results. :)

    Which Linux Disto (yet again)

RedHat 8 is much improved from previous versions. I like the GUI of Lycoris, but the sentiment ends there. I think the RedHat/Mandrake duo are doing quite well in providing continuous improvements in performance and with the UI. But I'm still waiting for the one that will replace Windows for me.

    "Fleet computer challenge"

Mercutio, My first option would be to avoid the Protégés and Seagate Us. If anything, you’ll need the fastest disk sub-system you can afford. You’re better off with a 800 Mhz CPU but a quick 7200 rpm drive. I would also be more inclined towards more and faster RAM then a high speed CPU...
