I have no experience with their RAID controllers, but with some Compaq NICs I had huge problems. You couldn't use them unless they were in a Compaq system. Phooey!

I'm seeing the same for my VIA chipset based boards, such as the Soltek SL-75DRV4. Boards that I have sold based on the original nForce chipset or those based on Intel chipsets have not exhibited this problem yet.

I'm installing RedHat 9.0 for a File Server, and during the installation I picked all three drives to be checked for bad blocks. This takes a very long time. The first drive went quick (20GB), the second two drives (40GB each) are taking forever.
