I'm not sure. The 750GB drive needs to have two partitions, one 10GB for the OS/apps and one for data. I need to restore it from True Image and be able to create and restore it in the future.

    Best 640GB 2.5" drive?

Can't you use some double-faced foam or something to hold it in? I don't understand the concept of PS3, but I noticed that many reviewers buy large replacement drives for the device. What do others users do when replacing the drives?

    >500GB Drives

Probably, but I suspect that four 1TB SSDs will be $6-8K compared to $450-500 for four 1TB HDs. One could buy about 1TB of fast CF cards for the same price by that time.

    Best 640GB 2.5" drive?

That is a great price for two drives. You can easily remove the Seagate from the Free Agent Go enclosure if desired. They are unlike the recent WD USB drives that cannot be repurposed. :( Ironically my 500GB 7200.4 is now in a Free Agent Go enclosure that originally contained the 640GB drive...

    Best 640GB 2.5" drive?

When will there be 1TB? I don't see 500GB platters soon. The jump from 640-750GB is rather small and much of that is from the advancing format.

750 GB @ 9.5 mm is here now. Unfortunately the advanced format is useless to me if I understand correctly.

The link was bad. ;) I remember the "stoned" Tiger from many years ago, but mostly I remember the jerseys with the big D or Detroit. It is hard to believe that their magical year with McLain was over 40 years ago now. Gibson kicked his ass in the series anyway. I still can't believe that...

SSDs - State of the Product?

STR benchmarks are one thing, but actual write performance is another. For example, the Vortex is much slower than the X25-E is in the real world, and even the X25-M G2 is faster. I want a new E series that has higher STR AND higher write I/Os. :D
