Oh, in-laws. I never thought of them as relatives. :D Nor would they of me I suspect.

You have relatives in Moscow??? What do people usually do for computers there? It's not like trying to find the right DVD-RAM in Papua.

Ah so. PS CS5 appears to contain a type of auto-retouching tool. It can hardly improve composition per se. Yet it would be fabulous if there were an option to remove those pesky humans from an image. :)

They are many ways to manipulate images, but I'm not into that artistic stuff. Most of my best prints are from TIFF scans in PS6 or DPP TIFF conversions in PS6/PS7 and with the use of three critical plug-ins. The main reason I use CS2 now is that I grew tired of keeping separate files for the...

The drive is strange. The access time is unnatural in HDTach. HDTune locks up the computer when the drive is accessed. What results are others getting for the drive? It also smells odd, but I take that as volatiles from the drive being new.

Date for cheaper 6 cores i7?

It's not like I could not afford to buy one, but they are rather expensive just to check out the taskman. :) The more cores or virtual ones a CPU has the more difficult it is to eyeball utilization in the task bar for single-threaded apps.

SSDs are exploding like crazy this year. There are so many brands but only a limited number of controllers and flash memory manufacturers. Is there a list of what is what? I have low confidence in the weird ones.

If the van came across the rear of the truck several minutes later, it would have been completely stopped when the van collided with it. The van was going too fast for the conditions. In the 60s they taught that one should drive in a manner so as to be able to stop in time for a stationary...
