    DVD DL Burner

I received reports that some of the DVDs burned a few years ago are no longer playable. I plan to burn new DVDs, but this time with DL discs to reduce the quantity and enhance the viewing sequence. (There were 27 old ones at ~1 hour each in XP mode.) What is a good model of DL burner and...

Why is the site always slow?

The slowdowns are intermittent and not nearly as severe as those last year. However, I thought it best to comment now before the situation deteriorates. The new host has been great overall.

It is small, but not lightweight for the size. 7D is not such an improvement on the 50D as I had hoped. It would be nice to get ten keepers from the 7D, but I'll settle for five. :reindeer:

Does anyone use USB 3.0 external 2.5" drives? I really like the speed and compatibility with USB 2.0 if necessary, but there are unfortunately very few choices. Which 2.5" USB 3.0 enclosures have you found to work as alternates to the external drives?

Not with 600-700GB written over. Recovery is a boring waste of time. Now I'm moving data all around again. It is certainly not a time saver to do this in the middle of the night and screw it up. :bstd:

    Watson (a computer) plays Jeopardy!

Why is that surprising? The organization and storage of factual data may be time consuming and the interpretation of language can be complex, but it does not require human thought.

The last flights I returned on were uncomfortable even in business. Seating and footrests were poorly designed for me, so sleeping was not feasible. Yet it is rather better than 13-14 hours in coach, especially when one must work the next day. :bravo:
