I'm not sure about that. There's no way to get multiple channels of 24/96 audio from a PC into an external box that would put audio on the HDMI cable. I wonder if nVidia will use some of their Soundstorm expertise to put audio on some of their video cards for HDMI video and audio output?

I want a sound card that can connect to a video card for HDMI output. Then the PC could output uncompressed 24/96kHz audio instead of sticking us with analog outputs, or DD and DTS encoded surround sound.

For example I got 2 1gig DDR2 PC667 SODIMMS for $80 in April for my Core Duo notebook. Today they are over $100. They were even more expensive a few weeks ago.

I tried using 1.10b, but nStant Media seems to bypass it. I think I got MPC working for video and audio, but I'm not 100% sure it's using all the Purevideo HD video processing. I'll have to mess with it later to make sure. WMP 10 doesn't want to play back HD stuff (1080i TS files) completely...

I ended up putting M-Audio Revolution 7.1 into my HTPC (which supports WMA Pro SPDIF Passthrough) and I put my Chaintech AV710 in my desktop PC. With my new Pioneer Elite VSX-84TXSi I get WMA Pro 5.1 decoding from my WMV-HD DVDs. I have most of the IMAX discs and Terminator 2.

That is interesting Handruin... My 6600GT scales video very well. I don't see any of the issues you're describing. I installed Gainward's Expertools (even though I don't have a Gainward card) to take care of fan noise in my system.
