    I tried two of the F4 and they were faster than that in XP64. I have not tried the others, but assume they are all the same. I am getting 143 reads and 138 writes on USB 3.

    How can I determine if the dics is aligned? There is no obervable difference when partitioned with XP alone.

    Is there a special alignment command needed in 7? For example, if I initialized a disk in 7 and then formatted it, would it be aligned when used in XP64?

    I can't find any. Now that I think about it, I have only Seagate and Toshiba 640GB drives. I will buy one of the 640GB 7200 rpm Samsung drives soon though.

    eSATA does not carry the power wihout a second connector, so it never was popular for 2.5" enclosures. Now one can just buy a 2.5" USB 3.0 drive.
