    question Larger TVs

I wish the DVD players/recorders could be used or upgraded somehow. I have a bunch of them around and of course they don't play the Blue-ray discs.

    question Larger TVs

Should I buy the Blue-ray, maybe a Toshiba or Panasonic? Are they all pretty much the same?

    question Larger TVs

I've seen that too from displaying the same info on industrial equipnet, but the Tv does not do that. I wonder if the edge line is burning in or if it is all the blacks. However, My 4+ year-old LCD ED TV does not burn in top/bottom blacks from the typical TV shows shown at SD. Edge is smooth...

Hey, I learned the metric system in 1969. :p I use it every day at work, too.

Stretch mode on the other TV makes the humans look very obese. :) Have you ever seen the burn-in/out phenomenon?

problem Computer crash when processing large amounts of data

Perhaps the motherboard is defective. 24GB is no problem on a decent X58 board.

    question Larger TVs

According to the instructions it is not a good idea to watch SD content for a length of time. WTF is that about? Are the blacks on the side supposed to burn in even on the LCD?

Bah, early adoption sucks. :( I'll wait for at least 6 cores. Maybe the chipsets will be fixed by then.

    Best Video Card Brand

This will become like the HD reliability debate. I'm not sure there is enough data beyond anectdotes. Past performance may not indicate future model reliability.

    question Basic Batteries

Where do you buy primary alkaline batteries? Store prices are just crazy, e.g., almost $9 for two 9V batteries. :eek3: My devices consume about 15 of the 9V batteries per year plus over a hundred of the AA and AAA cells. That does not include the rechargeables used for photoflash and...

    SSD question

I had an X25-M G2 for the boot drive before the existence of the force drives and it is OK for that. 2+ years ago most computers only had 8GB of RAM and now many have 16-24 GB so there is even less pagefile usage.

    Cable Management

My computer cables are all over the place. Except possibly the analog audio, I don't know why it would be a concern under normal conditions. Do you have some unshielded cables?

    SSD question

How is that 35TB rating calculated? I have close to 20TB on the 32GB X-25E in slightly over 2 years of use. :dwarf:
  34. LunarMist

    Audio Equipment

That is what I'm trying to figure out. I suppose it depends on the length of the cables. I see some are 25' or 20'.

I'll probably run it around the doorway and along the wall into a computer speaker adjacent to the bed. I may just run one channel and only use one speaker.
