    problem Hitachi Drive Quality...

Why are these so much more expensive than these? Is the quality really better?

Bleh. That is a messed up situation. How often are you forced into that activity? I would not waste money on that in particular, but the 17-55 IS is still a fine general purpose lens for the EF-S body.

Yes, I've eaten supper on some Christmasss at a Chinese food restaurant. I'm not going to restaurants except when necessary. I'm not supposed to eat practically anything that I would want to eat anyway.

Too many stores are closed tomorrow, including the liquor stores I presume. I need to at least go out and forage for food.

    Why must TV forsake me?

Bah. I hate renaming schemes and revising history. It's like the fools that decide a 5D is now a 5D classic or 5D Mark I, or that photo film is not film, but analog media.

It sounds suspicious. Is there an authorized photographer and you are just tagging along? Your best bet in general is to use fast primes and an FX camera with good high ISO characterstics. Look at Nikon.

    Why must TV forsake me?

I'm not familiar with the remakes of the pilots, specific shows, or copycat series, but the Star Trek TV series was comprised of individual episodes that can be seen in any order. Year by year is probably fine though some of the 3rd season was not up to snuff. Basically they had no budget...

The new 24 TSE II is so much better. It is optically the best 24mm, being very sharp and not having the strong CA of the old lens. It also has independent tilt and shift movements and a very large 68mm circle of coverge. Typically I use such lenses from f/8-11 so the focusing accuracy is not...

By backup I mean an entire backup plan, such as having two different vendors. So if Amazon has a crap "clouding" system, your company should be able to switch to another vendor's services very quickly. Obviously it costs money to maintain a backup and many companies would not find it worthwhile.

What is a night event and why would you want a semi-wide for the that with reduced DOF? Of course there are some fast lenss like 24/1.4G, which are usable on DX, but they are better suited to FX/FF. Typically the fast aperture is used for low light, not reducing DOF. It all seems rather odd...

    Recommendations on USB memory sticks?

The last Sandisk USB flash drives I got were just awful. I think it used the 3x cell flash and write speeds are worse than a good flash drive was 3 years ago. If I need decent speed I mostly I use memory cards and a tiny cardreader now.

No full scale AT-AT because of Lucasfilm copyrights.

I agree. It looks like a bad design. Being quite top heavy it should be vulnerable to attacks on the legs and forces that could simply topple it over sideways.

I told you the 17-40 was not such a good choice for EF-S. :frusty: Buy the 17-55/2.8 IS. It is the proper lens. In fact there are people that keep an EF-S body just for utility of the 17-55 IS.
