Same for me. I do keep meticulous copies though. I photograph everything I send in down to the stamped envelope with the address on it. I've only had to call and yell at OCZ a few times. Their rebate processor is pretty slimy and will straight up lie to you sending you a postcard rejecting...

Well, apparently a lot of SAS controllers don't play nice with SATA drives. It all depends on the chipset they use. They're also expensive. The Dell Perc 5/i & 6/i are the exceptions, not the rule.

I have a few Perc 6/i's and a couple of Perc 5/i's. I am running an 8 drive 5400RPM Samsung SATA RAID-6 array on a Perc 6/i (SAS) in my basement. The cards were about $100 each (with battery). The 4 SATA to SAS breakout cables are ~$10 shipped each on ebay.

I have an enterprise grade SAS raid card, so I guess I'm not in the same boat with most of you. :p

Do you have cleartype turned on?

Did you install the Intel driver, or are you using the one that came with Win7? I don't have any Win7 machines with eSATA so I haven't tried it yet.

I get 8 hour battery life from a 3 pound machine, and I don't have to suffer at the hands of an Atom. I'd call that a win win.

FWIW, I use a Logitech Bluetooth wireless keyboard and laser mouse on my HTPC.

AHCI does offer better performance with SSDs per some benchmarks.

That's because you didn't install the OS correctly. You have to install the OS when it's set to AHCI mode and do the F6 thing, or use a WinXP disc that has the drivers integrated into it. Or, you can roll the dice afterward and do this.

The Perc is only doing RAID-1 with two drives. I suppose I could put the drives on the Gigabyte / Jmicron SATA controller in RAID-1 (currently connected only to eSATA ports). That would leave me with only one free SATA port on the ICH9R that would be connected to an eSATA port. ps: Who knew...

Well, I've had my Acer 1810T for a few days now. This this is a total netbook killer. I'm still getting used to Windows 7, but the machine is sweet. It excels where my netbook blew chunks.

Yes, Single Level Cell flash can be re-written many more times.

Preventing users with less than 5-10 posts from inserting links and images combined with a few other people with mod privileges would basically solve the problem I think.
