My current, ancient ultraportable fits two hard drives with my custom modfication, but most don't. Of course SSD capacity is not a significant problem in a desktop system, where one can place an SSD on the PS or hanging around.
368 reallocated sectors and corrupted files on the 203. :( After all of the carnage was done, I found three other questionable 2TB drives according to the SMRAT data. How do I monitor that continuously for the future?
No, I mean the 12V or whatever the supply is for the router. I want at least 24 hour run time. My large UPS with external battery pack would be wasted on that.
Does anyone have experience powering the modem and router on batteries? Does the voltage in need to be well regukted, e.g., ±5%? Wang to be able to withstand 24hours power blackouts and the UPSTATE is inefficient at such low loads.
Well it is no bargain if you need to but two, one to use and one as a backup. Of course other SSDs have some defects as well, but OCZ is particularly notorious. :)
Sure, if Windows 8 is so awful. As much as I dislike 7, for now I should buy about eight copies before it is discontinued. Assuming there are drivers for a few more years, I could build the final few computers in 2015.
It seems like last weekend the power was out all over. The facility near Cincinnati lost power during production and all was lost. :crap:
I know some people in Virginia who had no power for three days and there were power outages in PA as well. I have to go there next week. :(
Only if you are intent on being irresponsible. There are plenty of healthy, fun and interesting activites that have low risk factors. Amateurs and incendiaries don't mix well.
No, it's not about the air. Fireworks were banned in the large southland cities like LA around 50 years ago. They cause fires (not good in the dry summer months), personal injury, and death in some cases.
Damn. I would be very happy with those drives. I have several of the 2TB EADS and they have been fine, especially compressed to the unreliable Samsung 2BG green drives. Today 500GB platters are relatively small so the speeds are on the slow side.
You mean more so? ;)
Most of the time I'm leery of saying anything controversial or providing potentially PII since I assume somebody or machine is reading everything.
I find it hard to believe that a new TV does not have the HCPD. even the <$100 TV in my toilet has it. I've never heard of vizio, but they probably use commodity parts that have the necessary functionality.
Many people are on PTO this week, but the rest of the world isn't slowing down and timelines always need to be met. Most of the usual teleconferences have been shifted to Tues or Thurs.
As compared to brilliant people on facebook? :D
Nobody should post anything negative about their superiors. Perhaps there is lack of intelligence in addition to PUI.
I put a 204 in one computer and it shut down, rebooted, but I thought that might have been part of the GParted.. Then in the bay on the other computer smoke is coming out and something smells burned. Now I have to open up both machines. Computers suck. :(
