They've always been subtlety different, but these two seem so close you'd never be able to tell them apart on the road except for the quad exhaust on the S4.
Yes, I mentioned that before. Specifically that word on the street was a loss of the 6MT in the 2013 refresh.
I'd suggest a 2nd, closer look, at that picture.
You must be in a very different place than me financially if you can buy a $70k car that's only used as a track toy. I'm buying a single car that I use to drive to and from work, and aren't likely to track. I want the more involved driving experience. That's why I'm not looking for a cheap...
I use a Panasonic ES-LA63-S Arc IV Multi Flex Nanotech Rechargeable Shaver. Previously I used a Remington Microscreen 3 Ti. The Panasonic irritates my face a lot less and seems to shave just as close.
Yeah, but I don't care about shaving 1.5 seconds off my commute due to a faster than a human computer controlled clutch. Having a 3rd pedal makes for a more enjoyable drive and that that's more important to me.
It looks like if the stars align just right I can still hear a very faint / subtle hiss if I listen closely when nothing is playing. I guess I should have used a slightly higher value resistor. Oh well... It is very, very subtle and the environment has to be virtually silent to pick it up...
I never really used the compression method (ie: compress, place in ear and wait for expansion, release) with the black foam Shure's. I just gently press them in my ears. Maybe that has something to do with it.
Oh... I've been using the same Shure tips for years. I just wipe them off every so often. They have a skin on them so they can be cleaned pretty easily.
Because I can get a lot more music on it mp3 format (LAME -V1) rather than FLAC, and in most places I listen to it the environment isn't quiet enough to allow any sort of difference to be heard.
They look similar to the tips that come with the newer Shure phones. link
The Shure guys gave me some free at CES when they introduced the SE models and I've been using them on my E4c's.
Most of the things I've tried to drive my E4c's have an unacceptably loud background hiss, even my two >$1k Pioneer Elite receivers, so I haven't spent much time listening to the E4c's with anything other then my Sansa Fuze. I need to spend some time listening to FLAC files with this Aune HP...
Are you asking if I can discern an improvement in the sound quality over the built in sound? Yes. It doesn't have any low frequency roll off, and now post resistor mod the noise floor is inaudible which brings out details in the treble where they had to compete with hiss.
Well, the 200ohm 1% resistors and 15V DC power adapter from Mouser arrived today. I swapped in the resistors and all is well. I can't hear the noise floor in the Aune anymore even with the Shure E4c IEMs.
I very rarely withdraw money using the ATM. And, that's all I do at the ATM. I don't deposit money at them or anything else. I do the rest of my banking inside (like depositing checks, etc).
I also never use cash except to pay for a haircut.
That's also why I don't use a debit card.
As far as I know, Bank of America (who I have an account with courtesy of acquisitions) doesn't charge an ATM fee (yet?). They can charge a debit card fee all they want, I won't use it. I'm trying to sort out all the details on BofA's debit card rules...
Everyone is going to start charging fees for debit cards because the gov't (Federal Reserve) reduced the amount they can make per transaction (Durbin Amendment to the Dodd-Frank Wall Street and "Consumer Protection" Reform Act). Since they can't make it from the retailers in transaction fees...
I didn't see any reviews of it, so I can't speak to the specifics of it. Have you looked at the various T-amps? Or do you need an external DAC?
There's a variety of small form factor amps available here.
I have a Brother duplexing networked laser printer. So far so good. We had one of their MFC lasers at my last job. It was problem free for the 3.5 years I worked there.
I guess it depends what you're after. Are you looking for something specifically with a small footprint or what? That USB amp probably wouldn't be my first choice, though I have no specific reason to avoid it.
I don't trust Creative Labs as far as I could spit on them into a headwind. In the past their drivers sucked (no idea about now), and I have no reason to believe their headphone output is any quieter or more capable of driving low impedance headphones than what's already in the Lenovo.
I wanted better audio from my laptop at work, so after reading a lot of reviews on head-fi.org and other places on the web I decided to dip my toe into the pool of USB DAC & Headphone amps. At first I had grandiose visions of spending a lot of money on a supposed really high quality setup, but...
Cheaper and almost as good only works long term if your chip is cheaper to make. It's got a 50% larger die than the i7-2600k and underperforms it. That means it costs more to make and they have to sell it for less. That means less money to put into the next design.
