I'm not knowledgeable about VP8, but x264 video can be encoded in such a way that they can't be DXVA hardware decoded. Likewise hardware DXVA decoding only works if the encode uses the proper settings. Blu-Ray's however support hardware decoding.

That system is probably past the point where quality will be noticeably lost due to running too many threads in parallel using x264. You would want to cap the number of threads per encode and run multiple encodes in parallel.

I couldn't find any sign of heated rear seats being available for the A4 in or with any trim package. There are no light interiors in the S4. The 2-tone silver alcantara / black leather or silver / black fine nappa leather is as light as it's going to get.

I believe they're black in the US. Same with the carpet. There are lots of options on the car in Europe that aren't offered in the US.

I like the look of Estoril. My hang up on it (and any other blue) is the interior color. The black / red doesn't go with it and I don't like the idea of having light color seats since I think they'd show dirt easily. All black leather seems like it might be a little much with a dark exterior...

I don't know if Fine Nappa Leather is better than Silk Nappa Leather or not. I'd like to think Audi has upgraded their materials, but I'd guess they're probably comparable. Those are probably the A4 inlays. The European brochure shows the carbon fiber and stainless as being available on the S4.

I noticed some interesting details today in this press material from the Detroit Auto Show about the 2013 S4.

It would be better if they upped the bitrate. x264 1280x720 (if properly encoded) has enough resolution to properly capture the detail in broadcast TV. IMHO, going to 1080p would largely pointless.
