Probably not. I never really liked the 5D III, so anything would most likely be an improvement. For me the main concern is improved AF at f/5.6, higher framing rate and of course the 30 MP. Low ISO DR should be very good, but high ISO noise will about what one would expect. On a per image...

All you whippersnappers are spoiled with that nonsense on the interwebs. :D When in the history of the world has there been a mid-sized SLR capable of 7FPS or more without an external motor or battery grip? ;) Of course it can be done with enough battery power and additional costs. The shutter...

I thought phones had the BlueTooths and Wi-Fi also. You can go slower than 7FPS if it is too fast. :) CF or SD or any memory card is unrelated to the mirror/shutter cycle speed.

Major Qualcomm chip security flaws expose 900M Android users

Ordinarily that would be kind of creepy, but I suppose not unusual at such a venue. Without stabilization isn't the video nauseating, or do you just stand in one place?

Nvidia’s GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 revealed: Faster than Titan X at half the price

No, that's even worse. I'd like about 2:3. My 5:8 display is as short as I can handle. Do the fancy video cards allow for any image size you want or is a hacker needed to do that?

Nvidia’s GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 revealed: Faster than Titan X at half the price

Squarish panels nowadays are almost always reserved for special purposes like medical or aerospace. Typically costs are very high and they are not necessarily good for photos.

No, I mean reducing the width compared to the height. The 16:9 is awful for viewing. I'd like to make the edges black.

The latest updates confirm the specs and have images. The 5D IV has all sorts of connectivity, but no auto AF calibration. There is also mention of additional touchscreen features. I hope they are not mandatory or it will really suck if the body is used in bad weather. :crap:

Oh well. I'll keep what fanless thing I have for now, but my monitor is really dying out. It's looking like I would have to get a 2560 x 1440 and see it there is some way to cut off the sides.

Around 3AM I accidentally GUI formatted FAT32 the entire internet, outlook, data SSD instead of the CF card. Then I copied it all back but the internet takes forever to open. W/R testing and formatting 1.5 TB of cards late at night is not the best idea.

SSDs - State of the Product?

Prices won't go down very quickly when there is no competition. At the very least we should see 2TB drives from the other mainstream manufacturers. There's no way I would buy drives from a "Munchkin" company.

It's rather past Q2 and Mushkin doesn't even have a 2TB reactor drive, much less 4TB. More Vorpwares. :(

The updated rumonger specs include Wi-Fi. That SD card device will be like an Eye-Fi for other Canon cameras, but not sucky and web based. 30.4 MP at 7 FPS is an interesting compromise. It really needs more RAM than the 5DsR or 1DX to keep that buffer free with CF cards.

    Tesla doomed

A horde of the Losers started climbing into our photo landscapes early one morning in Nevada or maybe it was Utah. They all had the T-shirts and there was a big van with the logos on it. The Losers climbed pretty well on the rock paths, but they were not hugely overweight. By the time they...

I agree. Whoever is at fault is at fault, though there may be comparative negligence. If the dipshit in the Miata drives negligently and smashes into a lawful, safely driving Suburban, the Miata may be 100% at fault. Even if the Miata driver expires, his/her insurance would have to pay the...

AFAIK, helium is not yet used in the portable 2.5" drives. Frankly those drives have been the types that tend to fail for me far more often than 3.5" drives in a tower case.
