    nVidia Active Armor

All I can say is that when I installed their crap, it screwed my network connection. When I didn't install their crap, my network connection works fine. This includes many motherboards (most from Gigabyte) and many installs of XP and Server 2003.

I'd hardly consider the last page we visited private information. It's something that you can choose not to share, but that doesn't mean you should. I could go around in life not telling anyone my name, but it wouldn't be a good idea, and may prevent me from doing certain things.

    nVidia Active Armor

I don't make any changes in the BIOS. When the OS first installs, and I install drivers for the first time, it asks me whether I would like to use their firewall. I answer with the obvious "hell no" and it never bothers me again. No corruption, no added latency.

Tannin choosing not to share his bandwidth with people linking his pictures without permission seems a pretty reasonable decision. And this purpose seems to be the most useful application of referrers that I know of.

None of them actually work, but the base product is fine. This is unlike VIA used to be and AOL still is. There is/was no way to get the functionality you actually wanted. There is/was no way to opt-out of bells and whistles that didn't work; or the basic functionality didn't work well/at all.

    Opposites in relationships

No idea. I haven't noticed, but I haven't been looking. I've dated a few people who were significantly larger than I am; but ended up leaving the relationship because of their lack of respect for themselves.

Handruin, I am perfectly content to stay where we are and do what we've been doing. This is great fun, and where I spend most of my free time, but to call it mission-critical would be a joke. XP Tablet Edition: Can't Login?

Ubuntu installed fine, and performed quite well, but it isn't ready for prime-time as a workstation yet; even if the only complaint is that is has a clunky UI. As another note, Vista Ultimate went right on as well, not requiring a driver disk.

I've been playing with Linksys WAP54G WAPs, Buffalo WLEDA2 9dBi directional antennas, and the HyperWAP firmware. Great fun, great range. It's amazing what happens when you double the power output to the antennas. Of course, I would never do that, because the FCC doesn't like it.

Network utilization when copying files on a server

Yes. This data is going from your server, to your workstation, and back to the server. If you use remote desktop to the server and perform the copy locally you will get better results.

Tentative is a major problem. If you can't take the risks, dating is certainly not for you.
