    Antec Easy SATA

Now that everything has so solidly stabilized on something with hot-plug standards, I'm waiting for Shuttle or Antec to pre-wire the drive bay and integrate this feature into the case.

Looking just at games, I don't see them going massively multi-threaded anytime soon. That and going i7 in a Shuttle increases price significantly.

    System build review

Considering I was putting it all in a Shuttle SFF chassis, I wanted as little heat as possible. I even went so far as to slightly undervolt the CPU. I'm looking into doing the same with the GPU right now.

I certainly wouldn't call it 'ashamed'. In fact, I couldn't say why I like it that way. I am under no misguided belief that my actions here couldn't be matched to me in the real world. Not sure, really.

How do I turn this system into a HTPC?

If it does ship with one, you'll be able to see the difference yourself. Quick example: Logitech diNovo sitting on the boardroom table isn't even detected by the machine in the closet using it's own packaged BT dongle. The Linksys not only detects that keyboard, but the boss' cell phone 2 doors...

Depending on your insurance, it has less to do with what you paid and more to do with what it takes to make you "whole". The last time I totaled a car, they paid out more than I paid in. I was just playing last week. I remember when we were kids, drooling over Power Nine cards. Now we all roll...

Do you think Sony will kill Blu-ray?

...or screws to hold the thing together. The number of times screws are being replaced with snap-in, snap-off plastic clips is sickening. It makes some things irreparable.

I'm thoroughly happy with it. The only thing I can think of is some sort of real-time updating within the page (like Slashdot is currently working on) that would eliminate the need to refresh periodically (possibly saving bandwidth). SSDs - State of the Product?

There will be more decent brands as vendors figure it out. The issue is that only 2 companies make good drive controllers at the moment. Once More companies make the controller chips, the price on that will come down, and the other vendors will start to make use of them.
