I don't like chocolate. I was told fish, but I don't like that either. I do have lots of iced tea (unsweetened) every day, as my only source of caffeine. The ratio thing was told to me by the guy doing the health exam. I haven't done any independent research, as I'm honestly not that interested.

Those are cholesterol levels, and there are three things that matter. 1. HDL is bad cholesterol, anything under 200 is good, mine is 133 (very good). 2. LDL is good cholesterol, anything over 40 is good, mine is 23 (very bad). 3. The ratio of good to bad should be under 4.5. Because my "good"...

    Windows update problems lately?

No, even after the rootkits were removed updates would still fail or cause the system to fail. I don't remember if a repair install fixed the issue or not.

The boss invited me up for dinner tonight (his son and I the only guests). Jalapeno poppers and artichokes as appetizers, then salad, baked potatoes, and steaks. Beverages were cocktails before, his wine during, then cognac and scotch after. Life is good.

    Ford Mustang 2012 review

I completely agree. It would be great if they posted a time for a mid-level driver on each car. Vehicles that are a huge handful (like the ZR-1, 911 or Viper) would take a beating, and cars that make it easy to go fast (GT-R, R8, Exige) would be rewarded.

I get serious time with my boss' dogs every week. Two corgis, a lab, and something very mutt-like (and very cool). I do enjoy the fact that they are someone else's concern. It's like what I imagine being a grandparent to be.

GeForce GTX 690 - May 3rd. $999. One beautiful and crazy expensive video card.

I spin my own cooling these days; none of those guys can manage a decent combination of airflow, noise, and longevity. At home I put in a GIGABYTE GV-R797OC-3GD, pulled the shroud and all three fans, replacing them with a pair of Antec 140mm fans about 1cm from the heatsink. Fortunately for...

Inelegant. ;) Also, my car insurance will cover the contents of my car up to the value of my car, but not anything on the rack. It has been over 500,000 miles since I was in any kind of accident. It has been two days since I last saw someone touching my bike while it was on my car. I prefer my...

Had some fun over the weekend. The roof rack with my bikes on it isn't as secure as I would like, plus wind noise and measurably worse fuel economy. I decided to put the bikes in the car. After pulling all the wheels and folding down the rear seat they fit, but barely and stuff is...

The projector will be buried in one of the far walls. The screen needs to be able to retract into the ceiling with an electric motor. This would be difficult with a pair of HDTVs. The closest I've found so far is this one. It is larger than I was planning, but I could make it fit.
