I think the issue is that I'm not sure how much I have left as I ride, so the closer I get the less worried about reserve I become. The ride today was nuts. I lead out the first ~15 miles of a 40 mile ride, all between 20-23mph. Didn't realize it, but when I looked behind, I had busted the...

Nope, that is the one. And before we mark it as a failure, you should know that I'm not very clever on this kind of thing. Every test looks like it should work, so it might be a great product and I'm just missing something. I just haven't had the time to spend on it lately. Perhaps I'll have a...

If the product is available any other way, yes it is. If you are willing to bet on something that no corporation has, there are risks involved. But it also allows much more agility compared to a major corporation and normal market research based products.

Not a pyramid, just a single layer. They have an idea, you pay something in exchange for something when the project is finished, they take that money and do their idea. If it works you get your thing. Think of it as getting a business loan from your customers.

Good ride today. Put the new Mavic Ksyrium SL wheels on with Continental GatorSkin 700x23c tires and Michelin Airstop Butyl tubes. Only saved about 2lbs of rolling mass, but I did average 3mph faster over 20 miles than last week despite a stronger headwind. Still trying to figure out the Garmin...

Mine wasn't specifically a complaint, simply amazement. If it does indeed perform as advertised I'd pay five times that much to have it on my car right now. Just because I like being the third wheel, I recently ditched all my nVidia cards for ATI due to BSOD issues. Problem solved. 48V DC LED wiring for a new build; XM-Ls, etc.

But surely you could build a 10-second car that looked like a mustang for less than $200k? For that kind of money you could get a welded tubular spaceframe, a nice composite body, a motor with some technology in it (direct injection, variable valve timing, forced induction) forged out of some...

48V DC LED wiring for a new build; XM-Ls, etc.

That looks easy enough, wire is cheap. I just need to think through the physical topology. I'll be mounting 6 triples and a single LuxDrive BuckBlock on the flat side of a heatsink that is 24" long, 4.23" wide, and about an inch tall. What do you think of this? Everything is to scale but the...

Ended up with 12 of the Triples. I've attached a picture. It looks like I can just run a pair of solder bridges to run them in series? I also have a pair of the LuxDrive BuckBlock 2100mA drivers (PDF). So if I put in 12v, I can run 4 series of 6 and be running them at 350mA? I don't think I'm...

It has a 4-pin P4 power connector hanging off of it. Crappy transformers are an issue, particularly if you don't keep them cool. I've gotten heatsinks from these guys before and epoxied them to the outside of the bricks. Never had one of those die.
