Hard drive reviews sure are boring. Performance seems to be such a non-issue anymore. This article is much better: http://www.pcnineoneone.com/howto/cleandrive1.html

    Good DVD Burner?

What do you expect for $20? I have not had the best of luck with Lite-On either. Though, my sample size is small I am going to avoid them from now on, if possible.

I'm not positive, but I think ComEd checks my power usage remotely so I get a much more accurate bill. Don't worry we have plenty of problems with our utilities over here as well.

    Audio Equipment

I really hate how Klipsch speakers sound. Horns are for stadiums, not for home listening. Go to a high-end audio store and test out some speakers. If they won't let you bring them home for a trial run, then find a different store that will. When my Dad was buying a set of Paradigm speakers a...

    Gigabyte goes down the tubes

How about yall? I met some girls from Texas who used that constantly. What is with the inordinate amount of hostility around here lately?

    Gigabyte goes down the tubes

I agree with that sentiment, Mark. There are probably less than 30 people that post on this board. Let's try not to drive anymore off. Though, you would have to run me over with a steamroller to seriously offend me.

Well, to be honest, that is not the first time that a picture of a scantily clad woman has been posted here. Maybe not an inline picture, but I know links have been posted in the past.

    Radar Detectors

I would recommend again getting one. When I had one I got a lot more speeding tickets than after I got rid of it. It is kind of like a license to speed in your head. You will end up going faster more of the time. Even if the radar detector goes off, you still have to have enough time to slow...

    Noise Machinos

I used to need quiet to sleep, but lately I have been running a wall air conditioner or if it is not that hot I just run the fan. This kills most other noises that would bother me and the constant blowing doesn't seem to affect my sleep either.

    750GB for $225

That is cool by me. I can Paypal the money or I can send it USPS in personal check or money order form. I'm sure there is someone else around here that would want to get in on this if Merc doesn't want to. Or if all else fails I will take two of them.

Another Digital Camera Thread - Point and Shoot

What are people's opinions of the Casio Exilim EX-Z850? I have a friend that currently owns it and is happy with it. Another friend is looking to buy the same model. Fix a scratched LCD?

Yeah it is bad, but if it was between no monitor and a scratched one, I would still take the scratch.
  47. timwhit

    Fix a scratched LCD?

Is it really so bad as to be unusable? Maybe you could give it to someone that is strapped for cash, like one of the college kids that you build systems for.
  48. timwhit

    Fix a scratched LCD?

Maybe take it apart and see if there is some kind of protective cover that could be removed/replaced that protects the actual LCD panel.

I really don't think that is necessary. I don't think we/you want to set a precedent to move off-topic posts in every thread. There have been countless threads that have off-topic posts in them that have still been useful to the original poster.
