    Website Testing

What does everyone use to test websites they develop? At work I use: Firefox IE6 IE7 (only for finished products, as I have to use a coworker's machine to test this) Opera Safari At home I use: Firefox IE6 Opera Generally I have found that if it works in Firefox, it will work in...

    Office Chair

I ended up ordering this from a local store. They were asking $240 for it, but I said I saw it on their website (horribly outdated, price was still $200 on the website) and they sold it to me for $200. Maybe they should update, that. Good for me though... It seems pretty comfortable, but I...

    Access 2000 database upgrade

I didn't catch that at all. I must be slower than the rest of the children. Back on topic. I spent a couple summers during school developing applications in Access. They really suck. I think the biggest problems we had was with Reference files. Will DAO 3.6 be compatible with 2003? How about...

    Office Chair

I still haven't found a chair I want. But, now I am getting desperate, a piece of metal that holds the chair to the base is cracked and now I am sitting at about a 10% angle to the right. Not comfortable. Especially since I have to sit here and work on this freelance project the whole weekend...

    Document Management System

How big of a firm is this? Multiple offices? I talked to my friend who is an architect in Chicago and his office uses no kind of DMS. They just save stuff haphazardly to a shared drive. They don't even use any naming conventions. The office he is in is about 40-50 people, but the entire company...

    Document Management System

It's great when companies refuse to consider open source software. My current company will almost always consider an OSS alternative, this is a good thing. We use Visual Source Safe for document management on Windows servers, it is pretty slow and annoying to use, but it serves its purpose. We...

    More Vista nonsense

I am convinced that XP is much less stable than 2000. My work computer runs XP and I am always having to restart because the OS just stops working correctly. I lose the ability to open folders or control panels or IE. This never happened in 2000 or in 2003 Server.

    BMW 335i

The BMW might drive really nicely, but I just wouldn't trust the reliability. I have friends who drive Audis and BMWs and those things are in the shop constantly. The repairs are also much more than on a standard American or Japanese car. Let us know if it holds up, if you get it.

    Audio Equipment

That was what I was thinking too. $140 for an extra 1.25" of driver probably won't make that much of a difference on the two speakers that are used the least. I think I would rather spend that $140 on a new receiver to replace my aging/crappy s*ny that is at least 7 years old.

    Office Chair

I sat on an Aeron for one day at my last job and it killed my back. I messed with the controls to try to get it comfortable, but I just couldn't find a good way to set it to make it work for me. I don't know why it is so hard to find an office chair that has a sturdy metal frame without...

    Audio Equipment

My couch is right up against the wall. I really can't move it out because the room is pretty narrow and I need as much room as possible. I assume this will make the sound suffer, but I am unwilling to give up any more floor space. I live in a fairly small condo. Those rockets are a bit...

    Office Chair

I am looking for a new office chair. I have had the same chair for about 7 years and it is starting to fall apart pretty badly. I would like to get something with a metal frame as it seems this would last longer/not break as easily. My budget is in the $200-300 range. Here is one option, I...

    Buying keyboards in bulk

I don't think I would buy a used keyboard either, but mainly for the gross-out factor. Used keyboards could be filled with all kinds of gross stuff, bacteria/fungus/who knows what else. However, those IBM keyboards are built pretty solid, so I doubt they would fail all that rapidly.

HD Keeps Spinning Down: How to ID?

It could have been powered with a splitter. I replaced my case since then so everything is connected differently now. I don't really need the space right now or want to lose upto 250GB of data is the drive is bad, so I think I will just leave it in a box for the time being.
