    42" HDTV recomendations?

The 42" Westinghouse 1080p looks incredible hooked up to a computer with DVI at native resolution. Something to keep in mind.

    more than 10 connections

I find most people are willing to learn. Especially if their boss tells them to do it. At my office we currently run Oracle and MS SQL, but are moving all of our apps to Oracle. So, we have Oracle and SQL DBAs working side-by-side. The managers have been telling all the SQL people to learn...

    Building new FAH/main PC

You have to be editing really large photos (or tons at the same time) to need 4GB of RAM. Spending hundreds of dollars so you can edit dem photos once in a while is not a good use of resources. If you are a graphic designer that lives in Photoshop that is another story.

Why was the site down today?

It looks like only their dedicated servers offer SSH. I don't know if any of those are doable, pricing seems pretty steep.

Hard Drive Enclosures: well built and reasonably priced?

That article has been posted here before. I am just too lazy to dig up the old post. The built-search is too hard to use effectively.

Why was the site down today?

I also don't know how much work it would be to switch providers. If it is 20+ hours of work, then it is a pretty big pain, but if it is 2-3 hours, then I don't see the drawback. If the new provider turns out to be crappy, then try someone else. Just make sure not to sign a 1 year contract with...

Why was the site down today?

I know we have talked about changing providers in the past, but maybe it is time to think about it again. How would something like this compare to the reseller account you have now?

DVD player you can attach a hard drive too?

The Philips DVP5960 has a USB port and says it will play DivX files as well as MP3s and JPG files. Here is a list of DVD devices with USB ports. I don't know if all of them will playback videos, but it might be a good place to start.

DVD player you can attach a hard drive too?

There are some TVs that allow you to plug a hard drive in to a USB port and playback files. For example, this Pioneer model accepts a USB input as well as LAN. I can't vouch for how well it works.

    Private Peer-to-Peer?

With FTP, you are relying on your ISP's bandwidth. I think the whole point of bittorrent is to do away with that limitation and just use the ISP for tracking the bittorrents.

    42" HDTV recomendations?

My friend bought the Westinghouse 42" 1080p model that was on Woot a couple weeks ago. It looks pretty good, but doesn't include a tuner, which is probably not necessary if you have HD Cable or Direct TV.

    42" HDTV recomendations?

I wouldn't buy an HDTV that isn't 1080p. Unless you plan on replacing your TV every 3-4 years, which most people don't do. I think LCD's look like crap though, so I wouldn't buy anything.

PC Gaming = World of Suck

I have been thinking the same thing. But, it has been out for months now. The marketing ploy should be over by now. It looks like Nintendo has sold about 6.6 million units. It stacks up pretty well compared to the PS3 and Xbox 360.
