I just got the results back from my first physical in 10 years and my first time for blood work. Blood Pressure: 96/70 Cholesterol: 158 HDL: 56 LDL: 87 Triclyceride: 73 Now I know why the blood bank stalks me. I chalk it up to my diet of bacon and eggs.

    Problem Firewire enclosure

The there is no specification for an IDE device to be hot-pluggable. If you switch out the drive you will need to reboot the bridge board (Oxford) to re-initialize the drive. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

    E85 Myths and Misinformation

FWIW, one of my clients is a global engineering consultancy specializing in the power industry. They basically make some internal modifications to the flue stacks to more completely burn the fuel left in the exhaust gas and squeeze another 10% efficiency out of the plant.

Interestingly, our nuke plants are currently running at partial capacity. Due to the lack of rainfall there is currently not enough water to cool the reactors if they are run at full capacity.

Depending on how hard your water is you can get a conductive layer of minerals left behind when the water evaporates, as Mark alluded. I second David as mold being what I would be the most wary of. About two months ago a high pressure supply line for the sprinkler system failed at a client...

    Why C.A.F.E Standards are Dumb

Marketing severely influences peoples buying decisions. Just look at the marketing budgets of corporations comparatively. The new Transformers movie was a GM marketing coup. The only effective tool for combating marketing is education and there is just no effective tool left to disseminate the...

An inconvienent Truth and Global warming

jtr, It would be more accurate to view the auto as the lowest common denominator. Autos are flexible and generally resilient. They are also wasteful and expensive. There is a place for the auto but there are more sophisticated solutions for general purpose use.

You're right; I'd like to put half the US population over my knee. Consider it a call for education. Why C.A.F.E Standards are Dumb

I want a car that I can plug in at night to recharge in the garage. It should go 50 miles between charges. It should also have an engine that will kick in if the battery power gets too low. It should have a hatchback, have a cargo area in the rear and be sized anywhere between a Honda CRX and a...

    Something new for me

When Fiesty first came out I was getting 15 updates a day. Now I get four or five once a week. They take about two minutes to load. The nice thing about the Ubuntu updates over window is that Ubuntu is package centric while windows is file centric. That means at update time you get the whole...

You lose a whole 1.5 square inches going from 4:3 15" to 16:10 15.4". People all over the world are using the extra width just fine now that the mass hysteria has died down. Most picture sizes are rectangular as well which should serve you better than a more square screen. So much drama, it...

    Summing Up Literature
