    Asus COP and pure evil

I'd start wondering if they don't have a thermistor somewhere else, other than the CPU, measuring temps like the chipset. Also, installing a MB monitor program might help in identifying if ASUS really thinks something is really too hot. Then there is the BIOS setup where you can monitor...

I enjoy looking at Fry's occasionally. NewEgg is always cheaper but it isn't a replacement for impluse buying or if you need something NOW. Unfortunately, At Fry's you always have to be careful about not buying restocked items (Someone elses problem). At least they label the restocked items...

Don't forget that -advmethods is not enough. You need to run the console with the -configonly option and say yes to the Large WU's question.

No, you have to be connected to the internet to send results and recieve WU's. There are some really kludgey work arounds (manually moving folders from computer to computer) but no one in their right mind would use them.

-advmethods tries to pick the newest WU's (Beta's) that are out in preference to established WU's. Currently those are the big WU's.

We averaged over 8000 ppd this entire week. At 6000 we were very slowly dropping but If we can sustain this new rate we should start improving our team ranking over the next few weeks. During the next month the team should break the 2,000,000 point milestone.

You can get away with large WU's on both machines as long as you have at least 512Meg of RAM. It will take several days to complete one 600 point unit though (aprox 100 hours on my 1900) but it will still easily finish before its time limit. I'm doing Large WU's on my 1900MP and it gets about...

Actually, I think having multiple PCI-e slots is an important MB longevity characteristic. At the moment, there are only graphics cards using the slot but that won't remain. In the long run, the industry's goal is to replace all the PCI slots in favor of PCI-e slots as a better choice. If...
