I've never seen external SATA, though I've heard about it. Good luck. I think you are stuck getting some USB hubs.

Most reliable memory system, for backup, and best media?

May I suggest a USB 2.0 external notebook hard drive. The USB for hot-swapability. the 2.0 for speed. The notebook drive for reliability: External drives may get bumped around some. While flash drives are theoritically reliabile, I've found that notebook drives are better.

    Bad news for AMD fanboys??

I have been reading about Bensley (Intel's upcoming dual-core Xeon). It has potential to equal or exceed the performance of the current dual-core Opteron's at least at the single-chip level. They will still be hotter and I don't know how it will do with multiple chips, yet. But Intel's at...

The moon is a very bright object and does not inhierantly need a high ISO. Since you are on a tripod, it will eliminate your basic camera movement, so a high ISO is not a big deal at that end. With QMD's they get the best points per day by running a single instance. QMD's are RAM BW limited (Not CPU) and thereby running two simply causes both to slow down as they both compete for RAM bandwidth. So, Run only one QMD instance and you will get optimum productiuon.
