I'm sorry, but Merc is right on and that is a very sad state indeed. I think one can trace the decline of "Family Values" in our society directly to the decline of respect given to teachers. Need some memory settings help

Just as a side note, the quality of your power supply can directly correlate to the number of RAM errors experianced. Here we are talking about one error in a few months to several errors per day on an otherwise totally stable system. In this case, I'm not accusing the PS. Don't expect MB...

    Need some memory settings help

I'm sorry, but historicly most MB's with 4 RAM slots have had problems filling all four. This is not an issue that limits specific chipsets of AMD's. Some seem to have relatively done well at dealing with it, but others have not. The quality of RAM you use can have a massive difference in its...

    Need some memory settings help

It's not as likely to be an AMD issue but rather a MB/RAM quality issue! The RAM signals need to be high quality and very syncronized. When you put in 4 modules rather than two, the signals have more distance to travel and that means more opportunity to degarde because of line capacitance...

I have to admit that my shots with a 100mm macro lens and a flash have almost universally been undesirable. There have been PS with builtin UPS's before. I don't think any have been financial successes. I think the market is too small. Servers, where price is less of an issue, generally already have a UPS infrastructure. Non-servers, almost always are price sensative and adding a UPS into the PS...

Or in the case of AMD X2 that are being switched over to QMD's one QMD and one non-QMD big WU (One instance switched to QMD's and one normal large WU instance)
  31. P5-133XL

    Folding@Home

Because QMD's are RAM bandwidth limited, not CPU bound. Both CPU's use the same bus to access RAM, so you gain little with the second instance. To optimize dual CPU's, it is probably best to have one doing QMD's and the other a non big WU (A non QMD).

Good luck. Folding seems to bring out the worst of overclocking. Where everything else seems stable -- It won't be to F@H. Check you logs, because the WU's may be finishing with errors (giving you little to no points). I wouldn't want you to lose more than you ever will be able to gain.

Anybody know where to get these drive trays?

The chassis external intreface doesn't appear to be SCSI. The case uses fireware/USB. The internal drives are 250GB 7200RPM. Though I can't tell if they are IDE or SATA, it is unlikely they are using SCSI. There is nothing I can see that indicates the interface between the trays and the case...

How much RAM does it have? QMD's will only appear if there is 512+MB and from what I'm seeing it is not getting these. QMD's are what makes P4's perform so well. To get QMD's you need large WU's enabled, -advmethods, and 512MB of RAM or more. My history with P4's is that once configured...
