3 of 4 new disk bad? Scsi parity errors on 3 SATA disks.

The drivers simulate the SCSI command set. The SCSI interface into the OS is well known so the programmers of the drivers simply use that API. So when something fails, the OS reports a SCSI error that will percolate back upto the user.

3 of 4 new disk bad? Scsi parity errors on 3 SATA disks.

I don't believe in spanned volumes in Windows any more than raid-0: It's too risky because if one drive dies, the entire volume fails. One needs very good backups, just in case. My solution has been to assign partions to paths, as opposed to drive letters. As long as no single directory...

It was always my understanding that the justification for the high prices of x2 processors has been a capacity issues: AMD could sell all they could make at those prices. If that assumption was true, AMD must be expecting an immediate massive demand drop from the Conroe to justify that amount...

Evolution is about the strong (of your own species) surviving and the weak (of your own species) dying out and the changes over time that process has on ones own species. It has nothing to do with the might makes right philosophy of doing whatever you want to do against a weaker...

    Terrestrial Engineering. Objections?

huh, what are you talking about? Killing or dominating lessor species has nothing to do with Evolution. Evolution is a theory about how life internally changes over time to adapt to its enviornment. Are you really trying to argue that a mass-murder is an evolutionary improvement?

I have absolutely no desire to see what the future unfolds as. From what I know and what I can forsee, it'll be bad. Very very bad. Luckily, I'm old enough that I am unlikely to see the worst of it. I'm not a half-empty type of guy. From where I sit it looks to me as the glass is rushing...

Just in case anyone has any further doubts: I'm a tree hugger and prowd of it. I think that if the Human Race wants to survive, then they need to switch to a tree hugger philosophy (mighty quick) where other life forms have a right to live too. It really is best for us, if the non humans do...

Why assume that Australia will get drier? Are there specific models for Aus. that say this? The general rule is that as the temp increases; the capacity for the air to hold water increases and thereby when the air releases its water via rain, there will be more of it i.e. Warmer -> Wetter...

I've had very good support from Kensington makers of expensive trackballs and mice. Specifcly, they warrentee their equip for 5 years which is an eternity. In the past, I've had multiple RMA's and its always been a pleasure (They simply cross-ship replacements at no cost). Well, in a way you...

Where's the PS -- Does it not push air out the back? As with many front mounted fan locations there may be apparent vetiliation holes. Regardless, there may be air gaps that allow for air flow that are just not very visible. It would be much better if the holes were easy to spot but it is...

RAM price going up like crazy.

In theory, putting both companies into the same RAM format should decrease RAM costs because of increased ecconomies of scale. So even without a performance improvement it should be benificial. However, that benefit, like performance, may be negligible. We'll just have to wait and see. I...
