Today was 50/1.4 appreciation day. In testing conditions, it really is (18M)pixel-sharp. In the field, maybe half that - still better than anything else I have. Also took some pictures of fireworks on the 4th that I like. Both on my Flickr if you are interested.

For most of the tests, it will help to have the drive connected to an on-board SATA port.

None of my new motherboards even have PCI anymore, so I would aim for PCIe just to futureproof a bit.

I agree that the Intel cards are great.

The air exchangers will run full-time, and since they are drawing from the bathrooms, act as exhaust fans as well.

Yeah, one of the things I was talking with JTR about was a system that takes 120V (dimmable) in, and then dims large arrays of separate LEDs. That would allow for the individual LEDs to be just pinholes in the ceiling, giving an even distribution of light and no ugly fixtures or cans.
