Much like the P190, 99% of the machines in this chassis will not require this chassis. This machine has it because I have a client with interesting tastes and a healthy budget. His last system was in a P190 and didn't have any expansion cards at all and an SSD.

    WMA to MP3

At least one of the converters I've seen online promises to strip the protection from iTunes songs and make them MP3.

    Cases

Noise level depends very much on component choices, as there is no attenuation at all. The case fans all have speed control, and at minimum are nearly inaudible. My choice of hard drive is also silent, but my GPU makes just a bit of noise. Going to a fanless GPU would be excellent in this...

Yeah, ten might be too much. I was more worried about incompatibilities between lenses and bodies. But I suppose with that many bodies you just leave them on the cameras?

I got the black/blue version. Much less obnoxious, but it still has the LEDs. All the internal components (MB, GPU, PSU, SSD) are blue/black as well.

Does owning Canon and Nikon stuff complicate things as much as I imagine it would? Vendor lock-in is pretty brutal in dSLR kit.

I actually kinda like it. I suppose if you are the type to use the word gauche, it isn't for you ;) Not sure how much noise a drive would make with the sophisticated suspension system, but I did pick a low-power card with a quiet cooling system for a reason. This chassis with it's two 120mm door...

    WMA to MP3

Allow me to complicate the story. He had a computer, he also had a wife. He no longer has a wife, and he only had 45 minutes of access to the computer. He did use iTunes (though the account was hers), and many of the songs were purchased from there. I've managed to talk him out of going that...

Wow. The NIC driver needs to be installed from the CD. While I was there I noticed Acrobat Reader and decided I could skip the download. The disk still has version 5.0 (!).

    WMA to MP3

Helping a friend who has a boatload of WMA files from iTunes and a non-WMA capable MP3 player. Looking for a way to convert all of them, preserving the structure and the metadata. This one will do the data conversion, but one folder at a time and without metadata. Thanks in advance....

Just finished the build in the LanBoy Air. Friggin' awesome case. 1. Very easy to work in. 2. Looks great. 3. Very fast build time, even with reconfiguration. Downsides: 1. Some of the bits are standard case faire, and clash with the slick looks and blacked out screws. 2. Additional reconfig...

SSDs - State of the Product?

The next time this system scales, it will be getting another 180GB Revo for a RAID-0 of RAID-0 SSDs. That should be interesting. It also doesn't require a cabling/mounting mess (there isn't even a secondary power connection!).

    Word Processor for iPad?

Specifically, something that can send/receive/edit files with MS Word. I know of Pages, but according to everything I can find, there is no compatibility with the Office or ODF stack, so it is useless.

SSDs - State of the Product?

4x 64GB C300 and an LSI RAID card is $700. 240GB REVODrive is $600. The main reason I like the integrated solution is because it is easy and clean to install without requirements on the chassis or PSU.

SSDs - State of the Product?

Compared to a single SSD the speed is superior, compared to a DIY RAID the price/ease of use is superior.

I don't think so. I'd bet that Newegg and the other super-high volume resellers know exactly where the optimum packaging level is. Not for best drive life, but for highest profit.

    O&O Defrag with TRIM

Modern SSDs on modern OSes have TRIM automatically, I don't need to buy software to get it. Defrag is useless on SSDs, as the drive can access any point on the drive in the same amount of time; there is no benefit to having the data adjacent to the previous bit. As a matter of fact, it is...

    O&O Defrag with TRIM

That was my point. Defrag is useless in SSDs. Trying to sell a defrag app to SSD owners is like trying to sell tsunami insurance to folks in Ohio. Nothin' but a scam.
