The shop-vac is actually stage two of three: 1. Push-broom 2. Shop-vac 3. Cool moppy-thingie I have large open stretches of hardwood. Using tools designed for large flat areas seemed the right choice. <shrug>

PC Gaming = World of Suck

Since September 2010. Keep in mind that I have a game running in the background most of the time at work (and a number of times left it open for a full weekend), so it isn't really dedicated playing time.

PC Gaming = World of Suck

I've played Civilization 5 for 920 hours, and finally unlocked 90% (158/176) of the accomplishments. If that was work at my normal rate, I could buy a new GT-R in cash. That is a depressing thought.

My last Socket 1366 purchase was...oh...a week ago. Looking at these, it doesn't look like I missed much. I think I'll wait around for v2 of the motherboards and some higher clocks on the CPUs.

    My new system

I've found that pitch has a much larger affect on my perception than absolute volume. Taking <80mm fans and making them >92mm is very nice, air blowing is downright pleasant.

    My new system

My office is quite warm at the moment (couple kW of computers running, no dedicated AC), so the ambient is 25C+. Idling, my "work" machine is 30C, under full F@H load it hits 56C.

LENOVO IdeaPad K1 vs Samsung Galaxy tablets

The ThinkPad is decidedly better than my ASUS Transformer. The screen is brighter, the touch more accurate. It ships with a lot more crap on it, though. Including a security program and their own app store? Bleh.

Lenovo: looks like a great price and very quick

Yup, that machine (a Lenovo T410) has a 200GB Vertex2 SE in it. But things that are not particularly disk bound (panorama stitching in Photoshop with 8GB of RAM) seem to take forever.

I would agree, unless you are coming from the entry-level with tons of Canon glass and not a lot of other video infrastructure. Quite a few have made the transition into video using nothing more than 5DIIs and CF cards, those might be tempted to stick with the Canon solution.
