+1. I was diagnosed with diabetes about 3-4 years ago and it's controlled with pills. But the fact is that with pills, control is never as good as the instant, constantly adjusting control your body used to have. I have adjusted dosing myself and have improved the control of my sugar. Most...

My new Asus board model (P8Z77-V) was known for being shipped with bent pins out of the factory. Sure enough mine had a few. I took it to the Asus warranty center, and they offered to correct it (a replacement would have taken a week). I agreed, subject to them sticking in their own CPU, booting...

I couldn't find my CD. Moved so many times in the last few years (almost like a fugitive on the run), no idea where it is. I googled and found the usual suspects that I couldn't trust. Finally found what appeared to be a genuine link that in turn pointed to the hidden download sections in...

Thanks DD. Thanks Handy. You nailed the reason why I asked this question. In the video Nikon D800 vs Medium Format with Roth and Ramberg, they have a pro take some shots with his own Hasselblad 40 MP medium format camera and with the 36 MP Nikon 800, and compare the two side by side in...

This must be slow, DD: Time to upgrade?

Interesting. I would have thought if cat hair got into the grooves of the GPU heat sink, the same would have happened to the CPU heat sink. Any idea why it didn't? His cat probably used to sit on / near the PC because of its warmth. Fortunately mine don't come anywhere near.

Sanyo Eneloop batteries - charging and analyzing questions

Bought a dozen Eneloop XX AA batteries from a local source. 2nd gen - HR-3UWXB. That's a tad lower than Amazon's price, and it seems everywhere else...

Sanyo Eneloop batteries - charging and analyzing questions

In general, charge at 33% or 35% nominal (not minimum) capacity, and discharge at 25%. This slow charging puts in more of a charge and keeps the batteries cooler. But: older / infrequently used cells need a higher charge to break up crystallization which won't get broken up with a lower charge...
