    Ghosting/Ghostcasting questions...

Absolutely true, and deploying an image out to multiple machines works very well that way. But I'm creating images on the machines and sending them too the ghostcast server. To be honest it doesn't much matter where it is initiated from, but I would like to be able to manually control the...

    Ghosting/Ghostcasting questions...

I have Symantec Ghost 8.0 Corporate and am looking for a way to enter a ghostcasting session manually from the client. In the "home" version of ghost, you can run the command from the start menu that reboots into the virtual partiton; where you can manually perform any of the tasks. In the...

Best speaker set for PC with coax for ~200U$

So the first step in my quest for better sound will be do ditch the onboard sound. I was hoping that using the SPDIF connection to an external reciever would exorcise the evilness, but that isn't the case (thanks Merc). So what sound card would best output a Digital Coax signal? (of course...

Best speaker set for PC with coax for ~200U$

Unfortunatly headphones aren't an option. I'm quite often not the only person listening to the computer (GF/Friends). I'm looking at either a Onkyo or Marantz reciever. A friend swears by Marantz, is it the Bose of the high-end world (ie very well marketed medioce equipment)?

Best speaker set for PC with coax for ~200U$

My system currently has an onboard AC97 solution with a coaxial output. How much of the crappy sound will be passed along though that source?

How to Dump Windows Volume GUIDs?

Not an answer to your question, but I've never had this happen. Do you mean if you restored what used to be the system partiiton at the front of the drive to a non-active partition farther back in the drive?

Best speaker set for PC with coax for ~200U$

Merc, What reciever and speakers would you be looking at in the $200-$300 range? Stereo is fine (don't really want surround) and fidelity is more important than volume.

Because I'm an incompetent sysadmin :eekers: Honestly, the system used for the UT server is also performing quite a few other tasks. Primary among them my &(%% PXE/Ghost server. Once I get this licked, it should be up 99% of the time. I've spent 100+ hours on this POS, and I can't seem to...

Well, the requirements and the pay are relatively small. But it could be an interesting test of this idea. Re: "The collective". I was thinking of outsourcing some web design work to the forum, then putting the money earned into the collective. What do you guys think of that? Thanks Mark, I'll check those out. So far I've run one of the systems for 3 days. It averages out to ~1WU a day (~65 Points). This would be about 1300pts per day for all 20. Meaning that even if you guys stopped today, I wouldn't be in the lead for another 92 days. You guys have nothing to...

    FTP Sync program?

I'm looking for a program that will sync a local directory with the contents of an FTP folder. It also needs to support subfolders, and free would be a good thing. I've found a few, but either their trial download is broken, or the site is down.

Not really. It still keeps the management at the server, all the configuration off the workstation, and is earier to configure than a static IP. All you need to do is key the IP itself, DNS, gateway and subnet are automatically pulled from the DHCP pool.

Yes, you need to open the ports marked as "incoming" and forward them to the machine you are running eMule on.
