    IDE hard drive poll

:mrgrn: Yes, I will accept all the "I told you so"s now....the ones that come most quickly to mind are Mercutio and Tea, but there were others. I find it really amazing that the systems that have been swapped with 120GB/8MB Samsung SATA drives have no performance decrease at all.

Please forgive the misunderstanding on the mouse, my recent knowledge of Macs comes from my GFs Powerbook...only one button there, and it slows my surfing significantly. Re: WinXP, I'm not a hard-core gamer, but I do enjoy some from time to time...your own beloved COH won't run on it. As a...

    CrystalCPUID

I found that through my overclocking adventures, MBM5 started to give really inaccurate results. The latest version of speedfan still works great, though. It also does temp reporting for my GPU, and would do fan control for it if it had a fan :P

    Age of Empires III

The only modern game that has me really interested is Theif: Deadly Shadows. Nice gameplay, nice graphics, good plot, and playable @ 1280x1024 on a 6800...very nice.

    Age of Empires III

Looks like a different type of game to me. I'm not into the MMORPG scene, just not enough time. But I certainly enjoy RTSs and the occasional fling with an FPS. Currently LOTR: BFME is my favorite (not counting Transport Tycoon and Sim Golf of course).

Sounds like someone decided to use your address as the "from" in a batch of spam mails. The mails you are getting are likely from mail servers that are blocking the spam "you" sent.

    CrystalCPUID

I actually put in a registry key (basically the same as the start-up folder) that includes arguments to start minimized. I haven't played with overclocking yet, but I think I'll start now that my 6800 has show up and I'm doing a lot more DIVX encoding...

Am I the First to Have It ?

I certainly have the Silent computing bug, but have found Nexus fans at low speed to be a more comprehensive solution than a fanless PSU/alternative exhaust method. I was obsesing about noise, but I am now finnished, my system is as fast as I will want for a while and inaudible from 2 inches away.

    The Future Of U.S.A. Politix

But I will take issue with the electoral process in general. We have the technology to make direct elections possible, so why don't we? Also, we could weight people's vote based on their financial staus! :P

    The Future Of U.S.A. Politix

Seconded. I also had an interesting debate about the value of only having presidential elections, and having second place end up as VP. Of course, we'd need to get the VP position more responsability. One of the interesting propositions of this system was requiring both to agree to a war...

    The Future Of U.S.A. Politix

That's one of the reasons I'm posting it here, Mark. Unfortunatly, I need to put the drive into production tonight, so I'll be destroying the evidence. Any util that can check SMART data can tell the number of times the drive was spun up; that would be enough.
