    16-core desktop?

I need to find a reason to play with one of these. Considering I aim for 18dB on my desktops, this made me laugh. Other than DivX-ing movies really quickly, or VMWare-ing an enterprise in a suitcase, what could I do to justify the price of one of these?

    Worry-Free antivirus?

I use Nod32 in all my business enviroments. It really is awesome and has a really small footprint, but it does cost some money. I am capable of selling people on things, but it's that much easier when things are free.

    [news] - Free VMware Server?

I just got my first VMWare server in, just for testing. It's a Tyan B2865 Transport GT20 which features a S2865 Toncat K8E motherboard. I also threw in a 3800+ X2, 3GB of RAM and a pair of 300GB Seagate HDDs. I'm very impressed with the hardware so far, it went together very nicely and all seems...

    Worry-Free antivirus?

Wow. That was remarkably easy. There is no configuration to speak of, it seems to just, um, work. And with a footprint thats only a fraction of NAV. Thank you so much to all who helped on this thread and the other in tech suppot (Merc, Tannin, Sol, and all those who read but had nothing to...

    Norton Internet Security 2006

I just used their web-based removal tool and it worked perfectly. I'm nearly certain that there is nothing still running on my PC. The system on a reboot is using 90MB of RAM (compared to the 160MB+ with NAV on it). Right now, even with FF and AVG running it's only using 130MB of it's...

    Weird Hard Ddrve

    Worry-Free antivirus?

This is stemming from a thread I just started in the tech support forum, and expands the matter. Norton Internet Security 2006

Well, complete removal of all reg keys and program directories didn't fix it. I'm beggining to suspect that it's an incompatability with the version of the MSVCP60.dll file that is part of the OS. Doing a search for the file on my computer shows the following locations: C:\i386...

That's my problem, in a nutshell. I get to the machine, and it's showing an error message on startup: Then norton shows that it's "Intrusion Detection" component hasn't started. When I try to start it, an error appears telling me to re-install. After re-installation, nothing has changed. Help?

I do certainly believe in better living through chemistry. Of course, the key elemet here is better living; using all available rescources to get the most out of life.
