I've been playing with Linksys WAP54G WAPs, Buffalo WLEDA2 9dBi directional antennas, and the HyperWAP firmware. Great fun, great range. It's amazing what happens when you double the power output to the antennas. Of course, I would never do that, because the FCC doesn't like it.

I received and installed my 7950GT, and when used in conjunction with my onboard 6150 graphics, I'm having serious system freezes. LCDs 1 and 2 are connected to the 7950 via DVI, and Projector 1 is connected to the onboard. Anything that happens on LCD1 or Projector1 work just fine, but most...

    How to convey an idea

Your post leads me to believe you have a very good idea of what you aren't, and that you are very capable of expressing that you aren't those things. What you really need is a better way to express what you are. This whole "I'm a still water that runs deep, if you want to get to know me it will...

Network utilization when copying files on a server

Yes. This data is going from your server, to your workstation, and back to the server. If you use remote desktop to the server and perform the copy locally you will get better results.

Tentative is a major problem. If you can't take the risks, dating is certainly not for you. You have to be willing to over-extend yourself, both emotionally and intellectually, and be able to ask for them to do the same. If you only extend yourself when you feel completely comfortable, it will...

    How to convey an idea

I agree that the "hug here, kiss here" rules are too structured, but there is one hard rule that I have never seen an exception to: If you have sex on the first date, it won't last the month as anything more than a physical-only relationship. Emotions/connection first, sex later; or...sex only...

They work fine. I have even gone farther, with 2x PCIe cards and a PCI card. So long as they all have the same chip manufacturer you are fine. I currently have a 7950GT on order to replace my X1600 Pro, just so I can use the onboard 6150 video as well.

Erasing your data before dumping your drive

Want to know why MS went for flash based cache in Vista

A 1GB USB drive is $20. 1GB DDR2 is $110. Further; if your system is maxed with RAM (like Tannin's poor laptop), it could prove useful. It's not necessarily an either/or thing. Of course, that is only if it actually makes a difference...

What I ended up doing in my living room was put in 12 50w halogen bulbs on a track. Even this was too bright, so now they are set to wash the walls. It provides a very nice diffused effect, but because of the loss in the walls I need even more lighting. Another 600w should do ;)

More than 2GB RAM under XP Pro 32-bit

IIRC, in a previous discussion on this elsewhere, it was mentioned that PS writes some stuff to the scratch disk no matter how much RAM you have. Therefore it would make sense to make sure this was fast (ie. RAMDrive). If PS' memory management was logical, than this wouldn't be necessary.

Interesting thoughts. I was actually looking at changing the final drive, but just changing 5th is a nice idea. In a perfect world, I would take the 6-speed out of a GTI and stick it in, but I suspect that is out of my price range. Getting better mileage is a nice idea, but I was primarily...

Lunar, you can have all the breaks you want. I'm a pretty strict capitalist. So long as you can afford to fuel your 7-series when gas exceeds $10/gal, you have my blessing. Me? At 1000+/week, most of it over 100mph, car selection has many more variables.
