    Cable Internet Speeds

Wow Howell, those are some amazing UL numbers. That is with the basic plan? Did you do anything erm, special, with your modem? I'm concerned that my UL has been capped in some way due to the fact that I use most of it most of the time. I don't even know if this is possible with cable modem tech.

Sounds like things are going well for you JTR. If my math is right that is over 20mph for 4 miles straight? Not bad at all. ...and I paid $1.50 for a bottle of water at lunch. My reasoning? It was healthier than the alternative (can of coke). If tap water was available, it would have been the...

    Took a chance

As I'm stepping up the FSB, all I check for is whether it will get to a desktop. After it fails, I start backing down and checking about 10 minutes of Prime95. After I find a stable speed, I run it overnight to be sure (and may experiment with lower voltages as well).

"Computers" forum "new posts" icon sticky

I'm using the latest Firefox. I know about the sub-forum thing, but it seems odd that it only affects the computers forum and not the others. No big deal, especially if it isn't affecting anyone else. Didn't know about the double-click thing...thanks ;)

I'm a bit confused by this. Do you need to re-enter all your OC settings every time you reboot? Voltage, Freq, Mult, etc? What about RAM timings? That could be a real PITA.

    Gigabyte's S775 Motherboard lineup

HP Laptop with Vista: My "New User Experience"

You guys want invites to parties with lots of women? Fine. Get yourselves some basic tango skills (3 months @ 2 hours a week?) and I can set you up 2:1. My GF gets jealous when there are too many women about (apparently I'm a bit flirty) so the extra guys would be a bonus.

My question is: why isn't the energy/water in the cost already? Clearly someone is (should be?) paying for the energy/water, so that should be factored into the cost already. If it isn't, that means that someone isn't paying what they ought to for the resources they are using. If water and...
