Here is an interesting tip. Women don't think of it like that. If they do, it's in a paranoid/weird way. Comparing notes with my wife after we were dating, the first couple months of my maneuverings/tactics were completely undetected by her. From her point of view, we were friends and "just...

Thanks for the link. Looks good. The ISO12800 test shot is noisy, but at least it has ISO12800. And I wouldn't need to ditch all my -S lenses.

I just noticed it yesterday, when I sent 3Ware an e-mail and it went to 3waresales@lsi.com.

SSDs - State of the Product?

The reviews seem to imply that the C1 is OEM packaged.

    Fast 16GB USB Flash Drive

It isn't known for speed, and I haven't benchmarked them, but I'm fond of the OCZ Diesel. Just bought a pair of 16GB ones for on-the-road photo backup.

SSDs - State of the Product?

Well, at least they have figured out supply and demand. All we can do is curse Intel until they get the supply thing figured out.

SSDs - State of the Product?

That's nothing, the 160GB drive is now at $900. With the 250GB Vertex at $725, there is no valid reason to buy Intel at the moment.

SSDs - State of the Product?

I'm ready to buy a pair of 160GB G2s as soon as they are available. I look forward to testing them against my 128GB Vertex drives in RAID-0.

    Font Wars: Microsoft Wins

I actually spent a couple hours reading about fonts at one point, and learned quite a bit. I then went back to using Tahoma for everything.

Guess I should start saving up for L-series glass, then. Or should I be looking to Nikon, too? The mucking about with the 5DII is annoying, but I don't have the money for it at the moment anyway.

I would agree with Pradeep. Best doctors and hospitals, but that has very little to do with "health care".

I think Stereodude has the right approach. When I didn't have insurance, when the secretary asked for my insurance information, my response was "I have cash". That usually worked.

I think you are drawing a line that doesn't exist. A lot of HBO is just soft-core kiddie-porn. Granted, there is a lot of bad porn out there, and because there is so little press/review of the material, you don't know what you are getting. I have seen many porn movies that have better plot...

Just for he record, Verizon's two data plans are 5GB or 500MB/mo. At least that's what my account rep is giving me.

    Wrong Drive

I use RAID primarily because it makes a large amount of contiguous space available for easy file management. Some redundancy/availability is nice, and the speed boost is always appreciated, but it just makes file management easier.

    MiFi 2200 mini-review.

Biggest issue so far. When they are stacked, the foot of one aligns perfectly with the power-button of the next. Once you go over thirty high, the weight alone is enough to power the bottom one on. With just a pair, attempting to turn on the top one does them both.

We have now found an actual use for those crazy "laptops" made by Alienware and the like. Though I would probably use a decked-out shuttle box for the task instead. Certainly not a task for a netbook, though.
