The boards aren't completely ATX standard, but could probably be made to fit. There are 4 SATA ports to go with the 4 SATA hotswap bays on the front.

It would not surprise me for shipping to be about the same in the US. They will likely go for more if they get listed elsewhere.

Some hybrid thereof. I need to get some money for them, but I'm not particularly concerned how much. $250+shipping to regulars? If no one here is interested, they'll go craigslist or ebay.

    1U Rackmount Servers

I have 8 Tyan Servers to dispose of. Two of them are Q6600s, the rest are X2 3800s. 3-4 GB of RAM in the AMDs, 4-8 in the Intels. One of the Intel systems also has a PCI-X GbE card in addition to the two onboard. None come with hard drives, all were working when I pulled them but are sold as-is...

For the paid version, 25.6GB. IIRC, you can pay to get more as well.

Televisions as monitors: What are you using, and why?

I wouldn't recommend anything plasma due to the burn-in issues. If someone has vision issues, 1366x768 might even be a bonus. I think brightness is adjustable on all of them. Of course, you want to make sure it has an HDMI port so you can connect using DVI and not VGA.

    Blu-Ray

If your TV is still analog, does it support HD at all? If not, that would be the place to put money first. I don't see a difference watching a DVD or BR on a standard def TV.

Upon closer inspection of their images you are right. It seems they changed design and not model number. Bad form.

I actually have the previous version, it is bigger. They are fully programmable, including macros and key combos. It is actually small. Razer Copperhead. The function keys are the same size as the rest? They are a bit smaller on the G15.

I take pictures of whatever I feel like or am asked to take pictures of. So far, I get the most enjoyment from walking in the woods or in the mountains. In addition, I've been asked to shoot 3 weddings, 2 football games, 3 parties (confirmation, birthday, batchelorette), a bunch of portraits...

Depends on the sport I suppose, and what your access is. I had complete access to that football game, so long as I stayed out of the ref's way. The 50/1.8 was almost fine for that, unless I wanted sweat on someone's brow, or the kick and the reception. It would be OK for motorsports, if you...

Can you elaborate on that? The 7D is certainly the most expensive body I could get away with, so the competition would be 50D or T1i. Using the 135/2 with a 1.6 crop body makes it a 216mm equivalent, seems pretty sane to me. Zoom lenses are nice, but I can't afford zooms that are fast/sharp...

Nichia Develops 60 Lumen Per Watt White LED

This is for the main office at the company I work for. The building is fairly interesting architecturally, and we have our own road, along with lake, fountain, stream, etc. This will be a PR thing, and will likely only start with 256 channels and maybe 10,000 feet of lights. I plan on scaling it...

A sandbox could do that, I think. I'm just guessing, but the reason you can't have multiple simultaneous installs sue to hooks into the OS, or because they install to the same directory?

I understand that position, the number of responsibilities/commitments I have here is getting a bit out of control. But at the same time, I was getting blamed for all kinds of shit when I wasn't making the decisions, either. The major thing I miss about being a consultant was the ability to...

    PCI-X SATA 2.0 Raid controller?

Greg, a Vertex Turbo gets close to SATA 300MB/s, but doesn't beat it. SATA6 won't get you anything using Vertex Turbos. The bottleneck will be in the controller or northbridge. Somewhere around here I posted some graphs of 3 Vertex Turbos on a ICH10R, and the speed was limited by the controller...

    PCI-X SATA 2.0 Raid controller?

I really believe that you will get a better average performance over the lifetime of the system if you spend half as much as you tend to and upgrade half as often. Of course, this equation depends on your budget. But there is no way that a Supermicro board and enterprise-grade stuff plots...

Ugh...disregard. I really wanted to use LEDs for their fast on/off time, low power consumption, and general geekiness, but the price is just too far off (triple or more). I'll need to retreat to the practical solution, I hate doing that.
