Damn, I hit submit before I was done! Anyway, to continue, in the grid, the numbers 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81 have the same symbol. No matter which two dogot number you pick and to the arithmetic on, you WILL end up with that same symol.
That ain't no magic, it's an old trick. The result is always a number that, when the individual digits are added together, will result in a 9. If you check the grid on that web page, you'll notice that all such numbers have the same symbol:
e_dawg,
I'm not familiar with the w2k ATA mode reporting bug?? I see whatever's approriate for my devices.
I coudn't afford Xeons--no way. I built my system about 2 years ago with a Tyan Tiger 100 (S1832DL) BX Chipset + 2 P3-850 CPUs, 1GB PC-100. The MB was $160 and each proc was about $200...
Not many, most of the pics have disappeared . I especially badly want to see Tony. Tony! Tony! Tony!
Mark, I need your address. When I'm depressed I'm going to come see you, the wise, gentle, soft, patient person (that's what you look like!). A very cerebral sort, I presume?
e_dawg,
At the considerable risk of stating the obvious, if you're using IDE disks, I hope they're not running in PIO mode?
I went from a single proc to a duallie and my multi-tasking is way smoother now. I don't run any SMP-aware programs, but the reasoning I used was the one already...
Isn't that the truth, Tea!
Mercutio, Buck, I have nothing against watches. I have one I wear everytime I step out - a Casio Data Bank. Meets all my needs (dual time, 5 alarms, stopwatch, timer). My significant other hates it and bought two that I seldom wear. My brother is a watch...
Hey Grammar Police, I envy you.
For me, it's hard to believe that in 2002, living in a Metro area, people still have the luxury of not needing to look at a watch!
As I get older, I'm beginning to realize more and more the value of quality of life! Enjoy it!
The two for the price of one deal was not intended; poor programming on Dell's site allowed sharp people to make that happen. I don't think Dell intended for that deal to happen.
I've built systems for myself and other people. My brother, who runs a small business, need to buy 6 new PCs and a...
Sorry, I'm considering buying Ghost 2003 (via Systemworks Pro 2003), does it ask for the product key everytime you restore?? That's a no-no! The the non-enterprise versions ask, the enterprise version doesn't? Gee, I'm sure the enterprise version costs a bundle. Maybe I should go with DriveImage...
honold, that specific example of two systems for that price was an error on their website, I believe.
That said, you're right, the average do-it-yourselfer will find it difficult to beat a mass-manufacturers pricing; those guys get volume discounts the single guy doesn't. When I build my...
Thanks for the welcome, folks. Sorry I disappeared for a while. Much as I'd like to hang out with fine folks like yourselves, free time is a constraint.
Bartender, a round for eveybody on me, please, thank you!
Mercutio,
I read a news item about 3 years ago about SouthWest Airlines. They had to do a desktop refresh, and instead of buying vomit boxes (primary motive was to save money / get more bang for the buck), they built their own in assembly line fashion using as many employees were needed...
Howdy everybody, this is mubs. I'm here courtesy Tannin (discovered SF through him). I used to lurk the forums over at SR (still do) and was away between 09/2001 and 08/2002, with little chance of getting on the Net to do anything meaningful, so I missed a lot.
Anyway it's good to be back!
