We discussed this in an earlier thread where I complained that I'm half blind now from using a Stinkpad with a 14.1" LCD that runs at 1400x1050. Large fonts look really crummy, Merc. It wasn't a viable option on my m/c anyway.

I'm using the HSFs that came with a couple of retail P3-800s I bought circa 12/2000 (awright, cut out the laughing now). Anybody know where I can find the specs of these HSFs so I can compare them with the Speezes? If I can get better/same cooling for lower noise I'll switch. Thanks.

If you use Win XP, I believe the built-in Twain driver is pretty good; you may not even have to install any Epson crap. I'm not sure, though.

mangyDOG, I just set up my links toolbar. Interesting thing is that IE insists on alphabetizing the contents of each folder in the links bar. I even turned on favorites to show on the side and rearranged the contents of the links folder, but the drop downs from the links toolbar will not show...

Blake: Nope & Yup. I didn't know the address bar could share the space with the menu bar - thanks for that tip! I was already using small icons with selective text, and had added some extra icons by customizing the toolbar.

Oops! I clean forgot to mention that I do not have the favs. column on the side of the browser; I need all the screen real estate I can get. Instead, I use the pull down off the Favorites menu. Good suggestion, mangyDOG. I'll have to see how much of my limited screen will disappear when I try...

I'll second that !!! Reg. the Dell designs, if anyone's been near a newer Dell (< 6months old) they're awfully quiet, to the point where you wonder if they're on at all. The've done a good job keeping those suckers quiet. I haven't examined them in detail as to why this is so.

You make a valid point. I believe after investigation it was found that a series of small errors both on the ground and in the air was the cause of the problem. More than anything else, the press needs to get their facts right; then of course, they need to be sensitive to the situation.

M$. In addition to the points jtr1962 made, M$ has ruined many small, innovative companies by acting in bad faith. Eg., "we'll license/collaborate with you, show us your stuff under non-disclosure", and then in a few years, M$ is releasing the same thing incorporated into their own product...
