    Moving (Sucks)

Been there, done that. One of my previous employers, who I had worked 5 years at and sweated blood for, decided to move to cut costs (sold their own building and moved to rented space). In between, there was a change of leadership. Promptly after we settled into the new place, the new leadership...

Suggestions for hooking up cable internet

Once you try to go faster than standard Ethernet (10Mbps), things start to get fussy with wiring and connections. How you connect the wires to the jacks, and the wires to the RJ-45 plugs is really important. I'll assume you already know this and have done things right. Configuration (for the...

Well, well, well. I've been running NAV for a few years and have always been clean. Like it has been said, no AV sw is perfect, but I may have some explanations for Tea's issues. On a related note, can somebody give a quick tip to a newbie? When I edit the JPGs my camera takes, I guess it's best to open the file, edit, and save as TIFF till all iterations of edits are done, then finally resave as JPG so the quality doesn't degrade with each save?

    External Firewire 800

So I guess number of devices that can be addressed is the problem, not the storage capacity of the devices in total. Because NT class OSes don't use the BIOS, looks like the limitation is in the OS, not the BIOS. or maybe the hardware? What do you do on your machine that you need 3.5 - 4GB...

Suggestions for hooking up cable internet

Shouldn't have anything to do with the card or drivers. The DHCP client has to be enabled. IIRC, you're running W98, right? burnt SCA adapter 18.21Gb mdl#ST118202LC cheetah

The common factors are the drives and the SCA adapters, right? Burning seems to indicate inability to withstand the power applied; probably starting current. I'd suspect the SCA adapters. Other members here could probably tell you which brand adapters they've used successfully.
