from the 1st article, it shows that in WinBench99 there is only a couple percent difference in speed between the two barracudas, however in IOmeter, there is a ~7% difference in speed.... Access times for the barracuda's differ by .9ms or a ~6% increase in access times when AAM is enabled...

    "Fleet computer challenge"

That's true, I often see vomit boxes sold with 128MB RAM... running anything more than win98 and you are having to page stuff on bootup... leaving you with only a paltry 15% or so of free RAM. This can lead to some slow computing in alot of cases(esp when packaged with a U series HDD) If I goto...

yup, those mmx's were based on newer design.. they were the coolest running PC processors I can remember... I almost doubt if you need a heatsink on them. You certainly don't need thermal paste (As I have noticed from a few gateway2000 machines)

    "Fleet computer challenge"

I bet it's harder in the US.... Dell seems to not be too good at support outside of the US... which IMO is the only reason to buy them(unless they just have a stellar deal available) I assume you sell on the lower overall longterm cost of owning a single computer by buying redhill vs Dell...

that is a good idea. I have done similar things before... But unfortunately I am not a computer repair shop and seem to have run out of decent HDD's at the moment.... my best are the 200 and 240MB caviars and my biggest are a ~1 and 1.2 GB conner (I know one of them has bad sectors). Maybe I...

In my bedroom I currently have 4 PC's turned on, one that is unplugged and hasn't been used for a few months, and most of the parts to build another. I would estimate the average distance from me to a PC while in bed to be just further away than my height of 5' 9".

why are people still using Netscape communicator? Any ISP that gives out netscpae communicator AND suggests that their customers use it above IE, opera, or mozilla are, IMO, short changing their customers. Comunicator never ran that well anyway, I would rather run Moz because of (1) the lack...
