Anyone using vPro or AMT to get KVM over IP?

Thats OK, that board I want isn't going to be availible anytime soon and there are always things like these: http://www.amazon.com/Server-Interface-Module-Enterprise-KVMs/dp/B001EHHR5O/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1263945137&sr=8-2

Anyone using vPro or AMT to get KVM over IP?

If I decode the Supermicro part numbers right anything that ends in a -F at the end has IPMI. Some Tyan stuff has it but those seem to be only xenon platforms mostly. Appears that IPMI 2.0 has KVM built in, not sure why intel isn't using that very much instead of inventing this other technology.

Anyone using vPro or AMT to get KVM over IP?

Bummer, looks like KVM is only in the next generation of the vPro stuff for 2010. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RReVh_shSPc I guess the previous versions are limited to hardware monitoring and asset management etc. Ddrueding: the app you want is this one...

Anyone using vPro or AMT to get KVM over IP?

Oh, and this document on pages 5 and 9 explain why I am so interested in it. Lots of examples on why you want it but not so much on the how. http://www.intel.com/intelpress/articles/iamt2.htm I am just sort of at a roadblock in understanding what is required to get all this to work with intel...

Anyone using vPro or AMT to get KVM over IP?

I'm still learning but I have decided I definitely want some form of this for my NAS box. The intel solution seems to have some catches though, check out note 2 on this page: http://www.intel.com/products/core_vpro/ Think that is only referring to the new stuff though, not the older series...

Anyone using vPro or AMT to get KVM over IP?

Anyone? If I understand the technology right and you are careful about motherboard selection sounds like you basically get KVM over IP for free?? Is there a catch? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813121357&Tpk=DQ45CB http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=34687

Pradeep, duno about that because there is always something better coming along but I just got a onkyo HT-RC180 and it basically addresses every complaint I was fighting with on my old yamaha HTR-5490. All setup is so much easier with the audyssey setup process it just hands you all your speaker...

    Blu-Ray

I think people went nuts on the GGC-H20L because it is one of the last drives to do the super multi combo with HD-DVD. Now that I look I don't even see a drive that reads HD-DVD that newegg lists. Handruin: good, I will have to remember to fill one out too. Never liked their shipping prices on...

    1U Rackmount Servers

Yeah, loud was my first thought as well and why I asked about the ATX. A decent range of Tyan support IPMI with the virtual KVM that I am looking for but I think for the expense I will be getting way too much horsepower for a bit too much money, over my budget that is.

I used to compress using CCE/big three but now that I have a decent TV and stereo that can do the new formats I either do a main movie rip or just stick it to an iso. Going to build a home server to put all this on.

    1U Rackmount Servers

Are the motherboards standard ATX and do you know how many SATA ports there are? Or do you know what the model is on the motherboards? I am building a home server soon and if the price is right I would be interested, but not so much on the 1U case.
