Soyo BayOne AVI Plus Flash Reader/Writer - Pretty Cool

I guess I should note, I am a bit absent-minded sometimes and would forget the cable either at home or at work. Now I just leave the camera cable at home and the drive at work. That way I can pull pictures off no matter where I am. Now, if I could just remember to bring the camera with me.... :)

Soyo BayOne AVI Plus Flash Reader/Writer - Pretty Cool

I prefer connecting the camera directly as well, but I wanted a way to read Memory Sticks both at work and at home. I also wanted an external CompactFlash reader for the card used in my Pocket PC, so instead of buying an additonal camera cable and a CF reader, the 2-in-1 worked better for me.

Soyo BayOne AVI Plus Flash Reader/Writer - Pretty Cool

I was looking for one of these for awhile. Then I spotted a 2-in-1 CompactFlash/Memory Stick reader for about $25 (SanDisk ImageMate USB Dual Reader CF/MS). Perfect for what I need--Pocket PC=CompactFlash and Digicam=MemoryStick. Everything I need and nothing I don't--and, it's portable...

Okay, here's what I want do do: I want to be able to print from Mandrake to my Windows XP box. My XP box has an HP psc2110 attached via USB. I have shared it, and I can see it on the Mandrake box (I'm using Samba). I can't seem to get it configured correctly, though. Any advice from anyone...

As always, Tannin, you present intelligent argument intermingled with parts of comic relief, which I believe we all appreciate and probably keeps the healthy disagreement forum members have in check. I think your quote above really spells out the mixed feelings that many people around the world...

    Iraqi crisis explained...

Perhaps it would be more clear to draw a parallel. Much of what occured prior to WWII was known and seen by the European community. I think the general attitude, at first, was that it won't affect us, it can't be that serious. I think what Flagreen is trying to say is that some of this...

Appellate Court Rules Media Can Legally Lie

I agree with you, Merc. Law or no law, journalistic integrity lies with the media professionals. If they choose to lie, the consequences are on their shoulders. If I were a journalist, I would feel a responsibility for accurate reporting. But that doesn't mean someone else would feel this...

Webmin Security Hole - Update Available

This may be old news, and I haven't done much research into it other than updating Webmin, but Webmin's front web page states "Due to a security hole in Webmin, all users should upgrade to version 1.070." Blake, I know you use Webmin--not sure who else, but it's something to be aware of. -Doz

    Any thoughts on this server?

Black flies = demons While hiking through Maine in June, I experienced these beasts in their prime season. They would leave little streams of blood running from where they landed. At one place, Namakanta (sp?) Lake, we dove into our tents to avoid the hordes. I think at least 100 of them...

For me Valentine's Day signified freedom this year. Don't get me wrong. It's not like I've sworn off women, but I've come to a place in my life where I'm easy come, easy go again. After my divorce, I felt like the world had ended. But I've been released from the bond of those dark days, and...

    Iraqi crisis explained...

    Iraqi crisis explained...

    Videocards for dual displays

It all depends on what you're looking at accomplishing. You don't necessarily have to buy a dual monitor card. I am using my higher quality vid card for my main monitor, and a cheap PCI card for the other monitor. My second monitor mostly serves as a secondary browser display for when I'm...

Prof, Let me clarify. I realize that the alcohol itself is not a pain-preventer. What I had heard/read was that the key was in the body being relaxed.

    Car Accident

"Crash" and "relax"--not usually two words that work together, unless you are using "crash" as the slang reference to "relaxing." E.g. I'm going to go home and crash. Isn't english great! :D Sorry, I'm in a strange mood today.

HUGE price drop on some Samsung and NEC monitors

I use a switchable Xenon/led headlamp for my outdoor adventures. And iGary is quite right, in LED mode it...
