    Where Be the WIA Drivers?

I have an old Umax Astra 2100U scanner that I've been using for some years. Apparently, I neglected to test it with x64 before making the leap. This particular scanner has WIA drivers that install fairly seemlessly with x85 XP. According to the Microsoft website (a dubious source, I know)...

    Build your own Router/AP

The only problem I see is that all of the ethernet ports are 100base-T. That's probably fine for an AP-only situation, but pretty crappy for a router role. Really, you want at least one gigabit port for that; and, preferably, all. Can a daughter card resolve this situation?

Actually, I'm trying to keep it out of your throat, so that's really a good thing! There's nothing wrong with experimentation, but you don't repeat a bad experiment "because it tastes good." I think that the Germans may disagree vehemently on whether there should be laws regulating the...

    Enabling Moderators

This is really a question of whether this is your site or our site. If it's your site, you can do whatever you want, otherwise there are other parties to reference. In my opinion, the best types of folks for these types of positions are the ones who are least interested in doing them.

Best Ingredient for Single Topping Pizza

I'm sorry, but you're all wrong. Would you put oranges on a pizza? Guava? Pomegranate? Strawberries (or any real berries, for that matter)? If so, there's something wrong with you. Otherwise, pineapple is no good either.

Seagate releases Cheetah NS 10K SCSI drives

This sounds like a swan song for the 3.5" 10k drive. Seagate has pushed hard to get people to move to the 2.5" 10k drives, and now they can't justify a totally new 3.5" design. So, they've "dumbed-down" a 15k drive. They now have all of their SCSI drives on one platter size, with the NS...

    Why C.A.F.E Standards are Dumb

Actually, this is becoming a problem with hybrids. Companies are making parallel hybrid vehicles that allow them to boost performance, rather than serial hybrids that greatly improve fuel efficiency (and, theoretically, could be pluggable).
