So, were you including the boot sector in your images? I don't know of any software that does this by default. Ghost (the real one, not the abomination) requires you to select the image boot option.

I thought that one could do this with VMware's shared folders function, but it appears that you use SMB access it. I know that its possible to run a VMware VM off of an actual drive, rather than an image, but I've never done this myself.

As long as the multiprocessor HAL is installed and working, then you should be fine. That there are two processors in the task manager is a good sign. If you keep in mind that the number of actual processors in your system has not changed, the gain from hyperthreading is not terribly good...

Such as the paid version of AVG? That's what's on my machine at work, and it really blows. The machine is a bit on the low side to start off, but opening a Microsoft Office document pretty much renders the computer useless for ten to twenty seconds due to the virus scan.

I have seen fora where posts are infinitely editable until there is a reply. I think that's generally a good policy. Whether that's implementable here, is a different story.
