    I need a new TV

with that much HD content available, it's obviously it well worth being able to access it. DTV has been slow on the uptake here, partly because of the cost of equipment and partly due to a lack of consumer education. excluding the ABC, the free-to-air bradcasters have been doing a good job of...

    I need a new TV

very little unfortunately. I'm seriously hoping that ATx-10 will show the Melb GP in HD but as of yet, they have still to decide. the HD content we have is nothing special being most news programmes, some of the more popular TV dramas and tyhe rest an odd assortment. at this stage ABx-2 is...

    Anybody use DVD2SVCD?

yes unfortunately MPEG4>MPEG2 is a very slow conversion process. HT P4's are the best (single) CPU for these sort of tasks. even the FX-55 is trumped by a P4/3.4 for most things video.

    I need a new TV

now that's a DVR :thumbleft: we have very little HD content down here. like 3 hours per day on free to air, none on cable and only a few HD titles in stores. in way it's a good thing as I can't allow myself the cost of all the HD gear I would want to have!

    I need a new TV

sorry to drag this duscussion back to signal format but I thought I might be able to contribute. merc and skeet are right when they say s-video and RGsB are component video but techincally any seprated video signal is "component video". typically though non-professionals use the term component...

Kramer RGB decoder (CV or Y/C > RGB+S and RGB/VGA)

hi all, I have for sale a Kramer FC-19 RGB decoder (Note: this is a NTSC specific model). The unit is branded as a "Comprehensive CVG-19" however Comprehensive's re-branding extends as far silk-screening their label on the front fascia and it is otherwise 100% a Kramer product :thumbleft: I...

Video editing solution? Burning to DVD?

heya Pradeep. you're right in that there's not that many DV camcorders auxiliary analogue inputs quite a few accept analogue video in on their their A/V connection. this can be said for Canon, Panny, Sony, JVC and Samsung DV camcorders. since much of the electronics required to convert...

Video editing solution? Burning to DVD?

hey there Misterilli (and hello to all of you :)) do you have a DV flavour camcorder? if so, chances are you can capture your VCR's composite signal via the camcorder DV output and the video quality will be as good as almost any consumer level analogue capture hardware device (often better.) if...

Comments/Recommend: web host and content management system

thanks for the reply I would appreciate it if you did. a local provider with a local server would be ideal, but it's not realistic. services such as those that Lunarpages offers would cost several hundreds per month. web services are still obscenely expensive down under :( did you find any...

    Conservatives and moderates only....

short answer: I do - yes I have gone overboard on occasion, yes I have offended people and yes I have been offended by what others have occasionally said. still ... I've only ever considered the heated discussions that I've participated in as debates. if I'm mocked or derided, well then it's...

    How do people meet people?

yet it's been 5 months to the day that you started this thread, and afaik, you've only talked about wanting to change and given yourself every excuse not to. you're still looking too far ahead. there are plenty of alternatives but that's not what you should be focusing on. don't try to figure...

YOU. despite you already knowing this and resigning to not doing anything about it, that fact remains it's still up to you. sorry to be harsh, but it's not good enough to talk about wanting change and then talk about that you can't do it. how much does it bother you that you say you want to...

<excuse my on-topic post> my main work PC is soon to be replaced with a Dell OptiPlex SX270 configured with a P4'C' 2.6, 875G chipset, 1GB RAM and 80GB Barracuda (yech). a reasonably capable box which should see me through for 2 years hopefully :) <carry on> PCI-X 533 looks to be good!

req: pls recommend a DVD/CD-RW with good DVD rip speed

hi, I'm after a DVD/CDRW combo drive to replace my CD-RW drive. the main things I want to acheive is the ability to rip DVD at speeds faster than my Pioneer 106D. even with hacked firmware, it still only does 6-8x DVD rip for pressed DVD5 discs only. non-pressed DVD5 and DVD9 discs can only be...

    Zalman power supplies

I'm very happy with mine (ZM400A-APF). voltages are always stable and apart from the 12V line, all voltages are dead on or out by only 1-2% no matter what the the load. the 12V line sits consistently at 11.89V, however pretty much all reviews I've read on this PSU have it doing the same and I or...

there's certainly a plausible link between the two jtr1962. TA has a few URL's on his page (like X-box hacking) that Trollaxor has spent some time trolling for. by itself it might only be a co-incidence however writings by TA on his page share similarities to Trollaxor's, particularly the...
