Just did this -- started the upgrade then cancelled because it was taking too long just to prepare (figuring I'd just do it later). Some time later (enough that I had almost forgotten about it) it's like "Hey, we're about to shove this OS upgrade you decided not to install onto your machine...

So the update process has finally made me seriously mad -- it, without any warning, just closed everything and restarted. I had stuff open that I can't get back now because those idiots decided to take that sort of control away from me. So I went into group policy editor and found the policy...

What I have sounds alright to me. I really don't care what I'm using as long as it doesn't have that high pitched whine in the background, it drives me nuts.

I do most of my listening on my laptop, which has some kind of generic HD audio output. I think it's Realtek? Either way, I can't tell too much of a difference even on that. Even that much might just be some kind of placebo effect, but FLACs tend to sound a little cleaner and clearer to me. Not...

I can hear the difference between MP3 and FLAC but if the MP3 is at a high enough bitrate (200kbps+) the difference is negligible to my ears. That's actually a good thing since most of my library is still in MP3. I don't have the space to fit my entire library on my phone in FLAC, as much as I'd...

Today was eventful: Helped a friend turn his very new Dell vomit box into something worth using for gaming. He bought everything before I was conned into helping out, so I had no input on what he purchased. All I can say is thankfully the addon parts he bought weren't crap. This whole thing was...

I can say from experience that my T450 is booting perfectly fine from M.2. Electrically though my understanding is that they won't take PCI-E M.2 stuff, only SATA. Also, having my BIOS updated to the latest version may be helping me on that front as well.

With so many marriages ending in divorce, I don't know if I will be getting married at all -- and that's even if I can get far enough with someone that it'd be an option. My dad's marriage lasted nearly six years -- but again, at least some of the years were happy ones... for them anyway.

+1 for Anti-Beacon, it's very comprehensive and it can refresh your immunizations on every bootup if you want it to. Between Anti-Beacon and the fact that I just don't have anything to hide (if they want to look at my computer, they deserve what they get) Windows 10 is actually tolerable for me...

Massive score! Thought I was getting a G3 -- indeed, that's what the listing listed it as -- Nope, G4. 256MB DDR, 800MHz G4, Radeon 9200. All of the promised speed, perhaps a bit more -- and not as many of the failure points. This makes things a whole lot easier.

Diablo 3 can apparently run on a potato now, as I can crank the settings pretty high in 720p on the HD 4400 and still have decent FPS provided I turn 'Low FX' on. I even ran it on the desktop, runs fine there too. I guess the fact that it released in 2012 has something to do with it? It's so...
