    Windows 10

Actually another reason to be wary of Windows 10 coming from OEMs... MS no longer requires OEMs to allow users to turn off secure boot... While this won't effect those of us that build our own desktops, it may effect those that buy laptops (that come with Win10) and find they can't install...

    Goodbye Flash?

Likewise, at work, new security policy was approved/pushed yesterday effectively banning the installation of flash from all machines. All Flash installations will be removed over the next 48 hours... The most flash I personally see today are ad related... don't care that I miss some ads! ;)

I want to buy a new car

We had it on the list to look at, but ultimately was outside our budget. The CRV was $3-5K more than the equivalent from other brands (and came with less), not to mention the annual insurance premium was also 10-30% more than the others as well... I don't know what Honda pricing is like around...

I want to buy a new car

Yep, ours was built/plated on 1-Apr-2015 in Japan. There is a model refresh in the coming months as well... Looking online it appears Suzuki US filed for Chap11 back in 2013 and has since left the US automotive market, whilst restructuring to only supply/sell bikes and ATVs.

I want to buy a new car

In a side note; my wife and I recently purchased a new Suzuki Grand Vitara (auto 2WD) to replace our ageing Holden Frontera (aka Isuzu Mu or Isuzu Rodeo as known in the US). We also looked at the Nissan X-Trail (and the 2015 model feels very cheaply made and is different to the older 2013/14...

I only typically saw those on name brand systems in the 286 and early 386 era, eg Amstrad PC3x86 systems had socketed VRAM for the Paradise VGA controllers... as well as some same generation Nokia and Compaq's as well... (Yes, Nokia had some 286 PCs).

    Shingled drives and backup hardware

My favourites were the Seagate TR5's where the drive belt (literally a rubber band) would fall off during operation... (For those that haven't seen them, the drive belt was on the underside, and would slip off once they became slightly worn, which was approximately about 800hrs of operation)...
