Sad if it is him... However, if he was unwell for a few years prior, that could explain the reduced involvement in forums, selling of equipment, etc. PS. I first meet Mark on the 2cpu.com forums**, very helpful with my Tyan K8W setup and understanding the AGP issues with AMD-8151 chipset...

Unsure about Roku, but I've got 2x Chromecast that we use with different apps on our TVs (mainly Presto and Youtube). Whilst we've got a Sony TV that is most likely affected (KDL40CX520 - approx 4yr old), we have found the YouTube app on the TV is limited compared to using a tablet+chromecast...

Exactly... I've got a friend who works at a regional ISP on the Gold Coast (OnTheNet), and even he admits both Telstra and Optus are putting a lot of financial strain on their wholesale users, where Telstra and Optus are not just quite undercutting their own wholesale pricing plans, making...

This exactly... What you could see is that general consumer based models are locked, but corporate models are not (due to HP, Lenovo, Dell, etc support RHEL on the corporate models). Interesting, but for a drive that is really designed for near-line backup/archive (write once, read many), it's not surprising that such a low sustained performance was seen with 1 application. I did note, that raw IO write tests did show 180MB/s+ sustained, so could be an artefact of that one...

Just no more security updates for the core OS... You may still get updates for things like IE and other shared/common components like .NET, etc after this date, but nothing for the core OS itself. Both Intel and AMD can issue a microcode update to include new instructions (LAHF-SAHF, CMPXCHG16B and PREFETCHW), BUT it'll require support from motherboard vendors (CPU microcode updates can be shipped as part of the BIOS image or as part of the OS) and OS vendors. In reality, both AMD and...

For anything other than glossy photoes, lasers are just as good, if not better than inkjets when using decent paper... However, when I went shopping for a colour laser AIO, the killer was not the printer cost itself, but the toner cost. (Most of the entry level laser AIOs are more expensive...
