Oh, very tempting. I'd imagine the additional mass attached directly to the drives would also help reduce vibrations/noise ;)

Who needs all that extranesuious craps in the PC? what if you have 8 herd drives? Are HDs reallky so much hotter than before? Jeeze.

I'm considering water cooling because of the space considerations. In order to have 11 (soon 12) hard drives cooled quietly, there needs to be a lot of space around them. Just the hard drive compartment of my chassis is the size of a NSK2400, and the drives are still over 50C and too noisy.

If I could stack them on top of each other, and insulate the whole thing for noise, I would save space.
